This condo was in a great location near the beach and Destin. It is not a fancy hotel but it was great for us.

This was worst hotel/condo rental I have ever seen in my entire life. I was travelling with 2 teens on the last stop of a 2 week vacation. We arrived at 9PM after driving from Cocoa Beach. The condo (18A) was so gross that I refused to spend the night. I had to find another place to stay that night. The condo was out dated: It smelled of a dusty old house. The front door was not secure. The exterior light was out. The carpet was stained. There were bugs in the light fixtures. All the walls were dirty. The dishes in the kitchen had dirt on them. The bed rails on the bunks were broken. They was a 3 inch dragon fly in the condo that had been feeding on the other bugs living in the condo. Stains on the futon. Stains on the placemats. We book this condo 3 months ago based on the pictures, price, ratings on trip advisor, 3 star rating and location. Poor decision on my part. I was able to find a place of better quality for a better price at last minute (and no cleaning fee and daily cleaning staff). Resort Quest after hours was not helpful. They basically told me what did I expected for a 3 star rating this close to the beach. Well I had stay at 2 other 3 star hotels/condos the two weeks before with no problem. Then they told me I could move to a more expensive property and pay the upgrade amount. Or they could have someone come out in the next hour or two and clean the place. Really at 9:30 at night. I told them even if was clean, how safe was this place!! No manager on duty! And part of our charge was for a cleaning fee when we left! I did speak with the manager the following day and was not charged for the condo. My advise: have them send you picutes of the exact unit you will be staying in before you book the room. This was the worst condo experience I have ever had in my life

My family has stayed at the Nantucket Rainbow Cottages twice and we are booking for a third time. The location is great . It is in the middle of a residential beach neighborhood. Nantucket is located away from the hustle and bustle of 98 on Scenic 98 (a very small barely two lane road). If you are looking for a five star resort with room service and a concierge this is not it. If you are looking for a quiet, safe, casual off the beaten path location for your family to chill, THIS IS IT! First floor units on the 98 side are like having your own little beach house. My husband sit's out on the patio watching the people go by, drinking martin's and smoking cigars. My teenagers go to Destin Commons (one stop light away) for movies and shopping. We have had our own beach cottage before and this experience is similar. One of Florida's top elegant, five star Restuarants is a across the street. The money we saving preparing easy meals in the kitchen allows us to spend a couple hundred in the restaurant each year. We love Nantucket and want to stay there each time now. We don't like the hovering high rises and parking garages. We are making Nantucket a tradition.

Love Destin, FL and the surrounding area. After my stay at Nantucket, I won't be looking around anymore. I've actually stayed at one of the units before and was not pleased yet this time I stayed at #9. It has a 32 or 35" TV (huge) vs the other unit having some rinky-dink 18" TV. It had all stainless appliances, granite countertops in kitchen and bathroom, extremely nice furniture vs wobbly junk (at other unit), and apparently everything upgraded to brand new this year. I'm confident I will never get so much bang for my buck as I did at #9. They could have charged me $40/night more. Future repeat customer.
