“This is the place to stay in Destin Fl”

We stayed in room GE205 at Grand Caribbean East. It is a one bedroom condo. This is a very clean and quite place to stay on your vacation. It is very afforable and we got alot of extras with booking this unit with Dale Peterson Vacations. Free golf, fishing trip with the kids and viedo rentals. The pool and hot tub was very nice and to get to the beach is a short walk across the street.

“Not the Ritz”

Stayed during Spring Break. I would suggest you come to Destin at another time. We could not get anywhere by car because of traffic.

As for this unit, it was basic. Lacked any extras at all. I would suggest you bring your own kitchen utensils. Also, the coffee maker did not work.

Two days before we were to leave, 12 people checked into the unit next door.(I counted them!!) It would only sleep six at the most. At night it sounded like they were bouncing off the walls. So we left a day early.

At the pool, they were in the process of installing a new fence. It made it hard to enjoy the pool. I don't know why they didn't do this at another time, they had all winter!

“Perfect place to stay: GCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2005

My husband and I are in our early 20's and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Caribbean East condos. When we first arrived to check in at Resort Quest's office, (which closes at 7 pm, by the way; it doesn't tell you this on the website, and you have to check in before this time; we barely made it) the guy working the desk asked if we were ready to check into "both" of our rooms. Well, I had only reserved one room. There had been some mistake when I was booking (on the website) and I had two rooms reserved. This could have been a big problem, but Joe (the desk guy) was very gracious and flexible, saying this happened occasionally and he took it off our bill, no problem.
The condo itself was on the third floor, so we had a decent view of the ocean, obstructed only by a big hotel across the street. The walk to the beach took no longer than 3-4 minutes, and the beach was gorgeous and perfect! The facilities at the GCE were great; the pool was nice, there were outdoor showers to rinse off after a long day at the beach. We had a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer in our condo, which was very convenient. The GCE is also located in a great area, with nice beach homes and condos up and down the street. I enjoyed my morning runs through this area, and always felt very safe. We would love to go back and stay here again!!!

“It was paradise”

I went to Destin right after Labor Day 2001. I traveled with my mom, dad, and my aunt. I think we stayed 4 nights. I know that we were traveling back home to Louisiana on the day of Sept 11th. (WTC attacks). Anyway, I just had to comment on Carribbean East and I would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in a 2-bedroom/2 bathroom condo. It was very spacious and spotless. My mom and dad shared the master bedroom and my aunt and I had the 2nd bedroom. Our bedroom was up in a loft. Pretty neat. It gave everyone privacy.

They have a pretty nice pool and hot tub on the property. The pool is only average sized but since we went after Labor Day, most of the time we were the only ones in it. The hot tub was really relaxing at night. The beach is across the street. But, that was no problem at all. Because it is in a really quiet neighborhood. Really no traffic at all. Perfect for traveling with kids. And the beach in the Crystal Beach area, and it was gorgeous! The sand was like sugar and the water was so aqua green and clear! You could see your whole body through it. No seaweed at all on that trip.

I fell in love with Destin! I already made reservations to go back August 4th thru the 11th. Now, that I am old enough to book a condo myself. This time it is at the Pelican Beach Resort. Only because I always like to try new places when I travel. But, give Grand Caribbean East a try! Prices are some of the cheapest in Destin. Great for families on a budget. And all the attractions are only a short drive away! Enjoy!

“We loved it!”

We loved unit 102 at the Grand Caribbean East. We obtained the owners website at our local church where one of our parishoners had posted based on their previous stay. The owner did a great job of taking good care of us and the condo was everything we expected and more. We would recommend this condo to all- take a look at beachloverscondo- he has 2 on the property.
