pool: closer to room than anywhere else, very clean, minimal chlorine, 2-tiered 3 to 4 foot. the two teirs are really small, but great design overlooking area above ground and private, view to beach, ovreall best i've ever used

jacuzzi: clean, very warm and not too hot

beach access: closer than vast majority that are actually on beach. 100 yards to sand from your room. Excellent rinse, bathrooms, and shade with tables at the public access facilities right there. Have not seen a better place to stay for beach access eventhough you cross a small road at the cross walk. Drivers insist that you take the right of way at this stop sign area in what is basically a neighborhood. Safe and easy.

general location: right next to the commons with the water and foam playground in the shopping area. great location

room: typical size for hotel. rooms are individually owned. everything nice. AC a little noisey, but good.

free internet, excellent TV and DVD/VCR player. Remote was not programmed for TV, bummer.

"kitchen": toaster, coffer pot with coffee , *small* fridge, microwave, no utensils, foam cups, hair dryer.

breakfast: if Camilles Restruarant manages to open by 7 like they are supposed to (unlikely), then you have choice of coffee/juice and 1 sugary muffin or sugary pastry. In other words, plan for worst continental breakfast (bring your own, with small cooler to supplement very small fridge- 2 half gallons fill it up).

children under 3: the beds are high with tiles floors. Looks great but is very dangerous for wild young *heads* if you don't get a roll-away. We felt lucky to have only 1 head hit the floor.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Beachside Inn and were very happy. It's definitely nothing fancy but the rooms are clean, the place is well kept, and it's directly across the street from the beach, which was wonderful. If you plan to arrive late, be sure to ask about late arrival instructions, as there is no one at the desk after hours.

Staying at Beachside Inn was the greatest. Why we chose this place was because of it being pet friendly and not charging an arm and a leg per night for the pet - one small fee for the entire stay was all they charged. Eunice and Donna were great from the moment I talked with them making reservations. The location of Beachside is actually 'beachside'. Could not have been happier with the proximity to the beach. A 2 minute walk from our room put us on the beach. Yes, it's across the road but it's a very low traveled road and there's a stop sign and crosswalk. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. I loved the idea of pocket doors between the bedroom and bathroom. Gives both areas so much more room. My only comment would be for them to put a comfy chair or small loveseat in the room. The table and chairs are nice for eating or playing games, but a nice place to sit and watch TV, other than the beds, would be a great comfort. Our future stays in Destin will always be at Beachside Inn.

Loved the pools and the easy access to the beach. The room is nice with a door that closes off a dressing area by the bathroom. My mom is in a wheelchair and the ramp to the beach is really right across the street. The ramp is connected to a nice, new pavillion with bathrooms and outdoor showers. Small street, no traffic, stop sign at the corner, really easy, thank goodness as it was just the two of us!!! Beach service right near the ramp for $25. a day. We stayed at the beachside because it's pet friendly and they truly are pet friendly! Our room was on the first floor, second door from the office and right in front of the handicapped ramp. Very convenient. Only problem was the noise. We could hear EVERYTHING from the parking lot. Our excellent little watchdog was on guard all night and there wasn't much sleeping going on. We slept on the beautiful beach the next day so it all worked out. It was really a good stay. The most important things for us were having my mom's dog and easy access to the beach. Both were great. If ever in Destin again we would certainly stay here - just not so close to the office
