“Le Jardin is the way to go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2010

We rented a townhome at Le Jardin in Baytowne Wharf for Easter weekend and absolutely loved it! We had stayed at the Market Street Inn before but wanted to experience something a little classier. The Le Jardin townhomes are three story structures with a Master Suite on the top floor w/balcony, a smaller Master Suite(including full bathroom) on the second floor along with a room that either has bunk beds or singles(bathroom in the hallway), both with balcony access; and a living room, dining room, and kitchen on the bottom floor with a half-bath. The units in this gated community are privately owned and can either be rented through the resort or on such websites as vrbo.com, which we used. Because it is a gated community a pass key is needed to enter or leave Le Jardin. This made us feel safer considering all of the kids bikes, etc. that we had out on the front porch area. The unit we stayed in did not face the water but we could sit out on the front porch and view the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Also if you stay in one of the units you have a personal parking lot that is accessible by key pass on the first floor of the parking garage.

Although Baytowne may be expensive for most to me the atmosphere sells it. It is always lively in the evenings and there is always something to do during the daytime; whether you want to shop, go for walks, play golf, go fishing, or just hangout at one of the bars and relax. The food like I have heard on some other reviews can be expensive depending on where you are eating but you will find that anywhere that attracts vacationers. The drink prices for the most part were reasonable and they are always running specials.

The kids are not left out when it comes to Baytowne. They have an Adventure Zone, which includes a rope maze, ziplining, and bungy jumping. Also there are several places that have kids in mind such as the Top That family restaurant that has family karaoke and an arcade next door. There are also shuttles that will take you to the beach so that the kids can play in the surf.

All-in-all I really enjoyed our recent stay and past ones and will definitely be returning in the future.

“Book through the Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2008

We made our 8th trip to the Destin area a few weeks ago, our 5th to the Village of Baytowne Wharf. We usually book through the resort, but could not get the dates we wanted. So, we booked Bahia, a condo in the Grand Sandestin area of the resort, through Crye-Lieke Realtors.

We got a beautiful condo, no complaints there. However, since we booked through the realtor, we were not able to use any ammenities of the resort such as the tram, the bicycle rental, etc. The tram is vital to going back and forth from the village to the beach and my husband was really disappointed that he did not get to use the bicycles.

Crye-Lieke did respond to our call for maintenance when we had a stopped up toilet, but they sent someone the next day as it was after hours when we called.

I would never book any other way than through the resort when we go back.

“Regulars at the Village of Baytowne Wharf now”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2007

We've stayed at the Village of Baytowne Wharf twice now and
would be happy to do it again some day. These units are on
the bay side of hwy 98, so if you want a beachside room you
should probably look elsewhere. However, the Village area has
a nice New Orleans feel, lots of shops, and tons to do. Our unit
in the Pilot House (across the pool from the Market Street Inn) was well maintained and had a full kitchen (if you can resist the
restaurants in the village below). The kids enjoyed riding their
bikes and swimming in the pool and the fireworks on Tuesday night. The adults enjoyed the shops and restaurants in the village. My only complaint would be that they sometimes close the pool in the morning for cleanings. It's also a good idea to watch for snakes on the biking/walking trails.

A New Orleans style villiage with the beach breeze! It does not get any better than this! The restaurants are fabulous! They have a shuttle that even takes you to the outlet malls. We had a WONDERFUL experience!

“Fun and Sophistication at the Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2005

Our family of six (kids 10, 12, 15, 17) stayed in a 2 bedroom unit at the Market Street Inn for Spring Break and could not have been more pleased! Our lovely corner unit with a wrap-around balcony overlooked a huge pool, hot tubs, barbecues, and a lovely lawn (perfect for pick-up soccer matches). The older kids loved strolling through the village , the younger ones fished night and day, and I never had to get in my car once! Gorgeous beach a quick bike-ride away(there's a tunnel that takes you underneath hiway 98), great food, and activities for everyone. Can't wait to return!
