My wife and I stayed in the Cottage to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We normally stay at the Holiday Inn on the beach, this was definitely a good change. Now, the Holiday Inn is really nice, if you have kids. We were looking for a quite spot for a week. Now let's talk about price. We booked with Resort Reality. They are located off site so you have to stop by to check in but it is only 1/2 mile before your stop. The ladies were GREAT! Super nice and helpful. As for the price, we saved $600-900 just by staying here over the course of the week. Its was not only cheaper than most places, it had a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. Things you don't have while staying at a hotel. We were located next to one of the pools which was nice since we only had to walk about 20 yards.
Services: we stayed during their "shuttle service season." Meaning, we were about a 5 minute walk from the beach, but, you call the shuttle (which is an extended golf cart fitting 6-9 persons) and with a minute to five depending on the time of day, he would pick you up and drop you off at the beach. We had an older guy that had us laughing for the good part of the week until he went on vacation. The older man thatyou' came behind him was just as funny! Both very knowledgeable on how to find the hidden gems of Destin ie: restaurants, shopping etc. For lunch, they do have a guy cooking burgers, hotdogs, grilled sandwiches etc. He was VERY nice and great to talk to. Sadly I forgot all their names but you'll notice them when you see them. Haha
Beach: there's not too much beach that belongs to them but, we went from Aug 8-14th and it was never crowded. You can rent chairs and umbrellas and even charge it to your room. The guys working there were very nice and took their life guard duties VERY seriously which should make you feel good knowing that your kids and loved ones would be taken care of. On several occasions they would stop people from going out too far when the waves were bad.
Parking: I don't think I'll ever stay somewhere that has a "perfect" parking situation. There are visitor parking but really, who listens? There was a few times we went out and came back late only to see cars parked in our area of parking that we have never seen. I think they should have assigned parking for each room and enforce it with a free tow! Who doesn't like free things!? Haha
All in all, we are already talking about coming back next year. Its quite, mainly in part to their 10pm quite curfew, affordable on most budgets, great location so you don't have to fight the horrible traffic in town, and did I mention affordable? So great service, great people, great location, great rates leads me to end by saying, I recommend Hidden Dunes. Do your homework and watch the video tours and pictures they have so you can pick the right room for you and whatever occasion your going for whether its a getaway with a one bedroom to a family trip with 3 bedrooms. I don't think you'll be disappointed unless your looking to stay in a presidential condo! So "middle class" families, like us, should def look into this place.
