“LOVE Sandestin, rent through VRBO”

We recently returned from our 3rd trip to Sandestin. We love the Florida panhandle and vacation there each summer (for the past 15 years). Sandestin is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest, on the panhandle. We usually make our reservations at least 4 months in advance but this year decided to go on the spur of the moment and booked through an agency. Though our unit was nice (Beachside One), we have much better luck booking directly with owners on VRBO.com. Our owner units were much nicer with extras such as premium bedding & linens, beachside service included, assigned parking, etc.

Sandestin's beaches are WONDERFUL! The sand is white and soft. The beaches are cleaned daily so no empty bottles or bits of shells, just soft, powdery sand! Sandestin is pricier than most on the panhandle, but well worth it. There is something for everyone with the beach, Village, Silver Sands, etc. We will be back, but will book directly with an owner next time.

This is our fourth stay at Beachside over 12 years. Beachside has withstood at least one destructive hurricane, but the 1B on the 15th floor was lovely thanks to the owners and Sandestin. We arrived late the first night. We opened the windows and slept peacefully to the sound of the surf on the beach. We awoke to sun, cries of the sea gulls and the surf. Our windows and patio face south/southeast and the sun was welcomed after a long winter in Iowa. The beach is like powder sugar and very clean. Every morning we walked barefoot up and down the beach for miles. The kitchen was fully equipped and we cooked in most of the time - seafood of course. The new Villages was a nice entertainment district to visit and the free Tram is available to get around the large resort. We'll return.

“Beautiful View”

Our trip to Sandestin was a last-minute Spring Break adventure with my 3 teenage boys! I had never been to the area and was VERY hesitant about booking sight unseen.

There was a cancellation for a 3 bedroom unit on the 18th floor. It was so reasonably priced ... too good to be true. I had no idea what to expect, but I braced myself for the worst.

We arrived at Sandestin after a few days in New Orleans and I was ready to crash and relax. I sent my son up to check out the unit while I unloaded the car. There were luggage carts available in the lobby which made the haul much easier.

I heard his call from the balcony 18 floors up. He gave me the thumbs up sign ... it should have been TWO THUMBS UP!

What a beautiful unit! Recently remodeled and beautifully decorated, I settled right in. The master bed is elevated to provide a gorgeous ocean view through the expanse of windows. Equally glorious views could be had from the dining room and living room.

The patio was multi-level with a table and chairs. It provided a panoramic view of most of the resort.

The kitchen was complete. I had no problem fixing a meal or two. Quite frankly, I rarely left the unit in 3 days. It was that comfortable. I went to the outlet mall (1 mile away) only once. I stayed for maybe 20 minutes and headed back to the resort ... I just didn't want to leave the place!

This was the first time I had deviated from my usual routine of going to Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head. For the price of the gorgeous ocean front beach house we used to rent for a week, I would be just as content staying in this unit for a month.

“Splendid View”

I reluctantly made a reservation for this 3 bedroom condo sight-unseen. I have never visited this area and was not familiar with the accomodations. I couldn't imagine that a 3 bedroom condo could be so reasonably priced and meet my high expectations. The unit is on the 18th floor (4369) and is absolutely beautiful. The gulf view is nothing short of awesome. I was so content that shopping at the outlet mall (1 mile away) was an effort! It is beautifully decorated and clean. The kitchen has been updated and is well stocked with equipment. This unit is managed by the Sandestin Resort and they do a wonderful job maintaining this unit for the owner. I will come back soon without my children. A one bedroom unit will suffice. However, I will gladly pay for the extra bedrooms not being used. This unit is worth every penny.
