Sandestin is a wonderful resort with a lot of amenities that provide the perfect vacation spot for all families. The beaches are very clean and easily accessable with security placed at all entrances to ensure that resort guests are the only people allowed on the beach. The condo was clean and updated with the latest furnishings and an in-suite washer/dryer. The market place area has many different restaurants and activities for all age groups and price ranges.

We will definately be returning in the future.

We go here every year and Sandestin is the only place to stay. You can park your car and never get in it again until you leave. There is a trolly that will take you anywhere you need to go, bayside or beachside!!

We stayed at BeachSide II that I rented through VRBO and I would not recommend this place for a family with small children. I rented a ground floor condo for the ease of toting a wagon full of beach items and being near the pool area (which i discussed with owner beforehand). That didn't work out since there were steps to get from the ground floor to outside, more steps to get to the beach and from our ground floor patio we could not get to the beach or pool area. There was nothing about Beachside that was kid friendly in my opinion. We've stayed in many places in Destin and this was the most uncomfortable condo by far! The furniture was wet when we got there, not a rug in the place to help with sand, we had four scratchy towels for 5 nights, I took a cold shower every night, no view of the ocean from patio, our front door faced the dumpster area and it was not a good value for what you get. I contacted the owner and told her about my experience and she responded with "Let's face it, the weather is just bad". Granted we did pick the week hurricane Alex was in the Gulf and we were trying to make the best of it but that was a very unprofessional answer and showed me that my issues were not news to her! Thank goodness our friends had a true kid friendly condo in Fort Walton because we just stayed with them! I like the Sandestin area but will not be back to BeachSide II! I will rent through VRBO again though because this was the first bad experience and I've rented many times. Beachside II just wasn't the place for us!

The pool was closed for 4 days. Glass was broken in and around pool area. The rental chairs were placed 4 feet from the water on the beach. If you got too close to their chairs they ask you to move up away from them. There were approximately 100 rental chairs on our part of the beach. Gibson Beach Rentals does not offer amendity cards to even rent one of these chairs. We were very frustrated because we have several small children with us.
