Just got back from a 3 week stay at Gulfstream Manor. If you are looking for a quiet, clean, conveniently located, reasonably priced, oceanfront stay...then this place should be considered. I found the rooms to be well equipped with everything you need, roomy enough and comfortable. Strong WiFi signal. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and make you feel right at home. The grounds are clean and bright, nice pool and hot tub. Hey, there is even a shuffle board court here, hadn't done that in years. During our stay, the other residents were an older crowd, very friendly, quiet. Everyone just wanted to hang at the pool and read a book or walk a few steps to the beach, which is sparsely populated at that stretch of sand. Surf casting with a cocktail was a popular choice. My wife and I had a very relaxing time here. Views of the ocean from our second floor unit, were the perfect start or finish to the day. Bring a bottle of wine to the beach and enjoy the sunset. Then eat in or head out to any number of restaurants in Delray, Deerfield, West Palm or Boca....all within 20 minutes. We had some last minute friends come down and they were able to rent there own unit and stay here as well. They enjoyed it equally as much and are coming back in a few weeks. We are heading to their sister resort, the South Shore Club in Delray for another few weeks.
I found the previous negative comments about this resort unfounded. I think some folks may forget this is a timeshare resort built in the fifties or sixties, not a hotel. So, if you are looking for more modern luxury, a bar or restaurant on site and planning on being waited on hand and foot, stay at the Marriot or Seagate on Atlantic...and plan on paying at least three times as much and dealing with the crowds.
Now, I am sure if there are families there with youg children during your stay, your experience may be different, we just happened to be there during a stretch with a more mature crowd. A few kids running around the beach would not deter me from enjoying all the positives this place has to offer. I have rented in Delray for 4 years and am booking this place again for next year.
