“Great location, easy access, beautiful property”

Not sure what WOW factor others were looking for, but this hotel was wonderful! It's in the heart of Deerfield Beach, directly on the water. We had a gorgeous suite with a refrigerator and a microwave, perfect for our week long stay. The price was right, considering we had a beautiful pool with pool side service for food and drinks. The flavored water at the pool (free of charge) was a nice perk to the hot sun. The full breakfast buffet each morning kept us full and avoided an additional meal charge for the week. We had cooked to order omelets, cereal, bagels, delicous fresh fruit and waffle irons at our fingertips for fluffy sweet waffles each and every morning! And we could sit in the AC inside, or on the patio poolside.

We were close to Ft Lauderdal and Boca Raton and the valet parking was so convenient for us. There is no in/out charge, so we were able to come and go as often as we liked and didn't have to worry about a far walk with our packages or groceries and our kiddo.

Housekeeping took care of our room every day, no matter what time. The one day we forgot to remove the Do Not Disturb sign until our return at 4PM. We left again at 4:30 and were shocked when returning at 9PM to a clean room. I travel often and have never had housekeeping service past 4PM if I left the sign up. This was a huge surprise and again, another WOW.

Everything from our front desk checkin/checkout, to the valet who recognized us and spoke to us by name each and every time we pulled in, was fabulous. We didn't order room service, but it was available and the menu looked good and priced reasonably for a resort room service one.

This hotel is definitely a resort! I even saw a spa, but did not utilize it on this trip. There were quite a bit of meetings going on at the hotel, and although we were there for leisure purposes, I would love to be at this facility for a meeting and work purposes. Internet works well and is quick and easy. Business center was great, and had 4 computers and printers, so it was always easy to find an open spot when we needed to print.

I can't wait to go back again! Thank you to the wonderful staff and Mother Nature too for the great week we had!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are worth the extra money! Pool sits in front of the ocean, so you can usually see...

“The view is great but it's still an Embassy Suites!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

A well located property just a stone's throw from a lovely stretch of Florida beach. The property itself is nothing special and the rooms are quite dated with well worn, generic Embassy Suites decor. As with all Embassy Suites, breakfast is included and it seemed to be the main source of sustenance for the guests inhabiting the hotel when I stayed there! The location is the main reason for the excessive pricing, certainly not the quality of the property.

Room Tip: You MUST choose a room that faces the beach and on a high floor (for noise abatement). The beach loc...

“Maybe Hilton means something very different in america”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

There for a conference and I think that two years ago I was in a Marriott for a week. It cost less but was great. This didn't feel like a uk hilton and certainly have the wow factor I am used to in the uk. I motel / hotel hop around the uk and came to the Florida last year and stopped in a couple of quality motels. I am beginning to think that this is the way to see america and get good service.

Anyway customer service at the embassy suites was awesome. I mentioned towels at the desk they beat me back to the room. Pricing needs to clearer for poolside meals.

But a Hilton not really

“Overpriced, needs improvement”

I read many reviews about this place before booking a 1 bdr. suite. My family stayed there for 1 week. I think many of the reviews we read are overstated, the place looks better online than in person, and is definitely overpriced.

After waiting till 4.30 pm for our room to be ready - we were there at 3.30 pm- (not ready as of 4 pm when promised- and that was on a weekday, no school vacation, no major events to make it crowded) we went to the room. An "old smell topped with chemical smell" from whatever cleaning solution they used is the first thing we noticed on entering the suite. Sofa not so clean, with visible old stains. Definitely not worth the money we paid- I would say it was 80-100 $ /night overpriced. Ridiculous that we had to pay 18$ self park per night, or 22 $ for valet (Valet parking I found to be slower than self, more expensive when you factor tips as well, so we only did it for the first night. That however, did not stay in the hotel's way to put it on our bill, at the end, as nightly - easily corrected to 'self-park' upon my call to front desk).

Free breakfast was decent, crowds were not an issue for us.
The happy hour is a joke, however. Basically they offer 3 types of draft beer, chips, salsa, and some wine as well. I was not impressed by it.

Then there's the toilet overflowing twice in the living room- very annoying, we had to call for them to fix this on a sunday evening at 8 pm. They took care of it, but I did not expect this problem to happen twice during our stay. Toilets were slow to start with.

Location was good. Quiet, we had a 7-th floor (top floor) ocean view room. Nice view, would have ben even nicer if the windows were cleaner- it seemed like nobody bothered to clean them on the outside in at least 2-3 months.
The fridge is small, has NO freezer, and only accommodates some snacks and drinks.
Housekeeping was Ok for us, no major issues. I did not use their computer room or their gym, so I can't comment on that.

Pool area is nice, but you only get sunshine till 3 PM, after that is shaded, and it can get cold if it's breezy. The beach in front the hotel was small but quiet, sea weeds are not properly cleaned, and the "beach resort" they claim to be (don't be fooled- it's just a regular hotel that has suites and a spa in it) charges you daily for their lounge chair use on the beach- another thing (besides parking) that should be included with the room-price you pay, I think.

Their restaurant is again overpriced and food is average, at best. We dined there only once, as in 5-10 minutes drive, there are many other better choices in Deerfield beach, close to Publix plaza. The mac & cheese was definitely a generic box microwaved, for about 5 $ a piece. Shrimp scampi was 18 $ and loaded with sauce/liquid that had not much taste. Their flatbread was good, but that was about the only one option that we liked. We learned our lesson and did not dine there after that experience. Also, when we were at the pool one day, and we had takeout, they would bot let us eat it on the adjacent tables that belonged to the restaurant (90 % of the tables being empty anyway) due to some 'health concerns regulations'.....

Front desk staff was Ok, but overall the stay was not great. Next time we will be looking for a different place to stay. Overall, I would give it a 2.7 - 3 star review, but not more than that.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor if ocean view desired.

“Embassy Suites has it all and the best breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My family of 5 stayed here for 2 nights before our cruise. Deerfield beach is about 20mins north of Ft Lauderdale and is beautiful!

We were able to check-in early about 1pm and were upgraded to an oceanfront room! The suite had a living room with pull out sofa and dining table and chairs, a bedroom with 2 double beds and 2 bathrooms, a microwave and small frig. It was big enough for 5 people to be comfortable,

We headed staight to the pool. The pool area is large with lots of chairs. The pool water was warm and the hot tub was hot! The beach is across a small (not busy) street). You can rent umbrellas and chairs on the beach for $10each.

My family all agreed this hotel had the best complimentary hotel breakfast of any place we've every stayed. The omelet station here was better than our cruise ship!, We went to the Managers reception both nights. They had veggies and dip and chips and salsa and open bar! We realized that you can walk a mile down the boardwalk to shops so no need to drive to dinner after the managers reception!

We requested extra blankets and they were delivered promptly. I left a note for the maid for extra coffee for the coffee maker and it was there when we got back from the beach.

This place had everything we wanted and we enjoyed our stay here before our cruise. I wish I was there now!
