First, I have to concede that our efficiency apartment was extremely clean. The hotel is also in a great location, a block from the ocean, and near great restaurants and bars. These are the only redeeming qualities of our stay. To call this place a resort is a serious stretch of someone's imagination. The manager was rude and unprofessional during check in. You basically sign a contract signing your life away should you have an accident on property. Next, they require an additional fee to use the pool, per day. They require a $100.00 security deposit at check in, which is in addition to your daily rate. The apartment's decor is severely outdated (grandma's house circa 1978) and the TV was child-size. We reserved an apartment with a king size bed but got two twin beds on a king size frame. Very uncomfortable. There is no central heat and air. Just two very old, asthmatic window units that wheezed and whirred trying to keep up with the South Florida heat in August. There are several rules. Don't sit on the bed spread, don't use too much toilet paper, don't hurt the tile, you must take out your own trash or pay an additional $25.00 fee to get housekeeping to perform this task, if you mess up the linens you'll pay, if you mess up the phone you'll pay, ever ytime you turn your head in this small efficiency apartment there is a laundry list of rules you must adhere to. The management would not provide a key to lock the dead bolt, so we never felt like our valuables were safe inside the apartment, which only had a traditional lock on the door knob. There is probably more freedom in a jail cell than this place.
