As a frequent visitor to this area, to visit family, we decided to select a small locally owned motel/hotel rather than a big expensive "chain". We had previously stayed in 2 other chain hotels, and found them barely worth the money, with poor locations, "ho-hum" customer service, etc... We found this little "charm" online, and decided to give it a try. We spent 3 nights here, during off peak season, with the prices very economical. On arrival, the outside portrayed a well taken care of establishment, clean (as much as you can, so close to the beach!), and on checking in, we found the guest services receptionist, Suzana, very helpful and friendly. After paying in advance for our 3 night stay, we settled into our little efficiency apt. and found it had lots of room, a big enough kitchen, with full size refrigerator, stove, large sink, etc....there was also a large walk-in closet, and ample sized bathroom. Room was clean and furniture and interior was very acceptable for the area. And no bedbugs, or any type of bug!! AC worked just fine, water pressure was a bit low, but acceptable, all amentities working fine, and beds & pillows were comfy too. Pool was clean and refreshing, as well. In the office, was a small lending library, and coffee pot, and lots of "tourist brochures" of places and things to go and do. Within 2 blocks there was sandwich shop with ice cream, and few blocks north, the City pier, with lots of restaurants and watering holes, to choose from. During our stay, we had no issues with noise, from outside or other rooms; It is on a main road (20th Ave), and you do hear occasional noise from cars or motorcylces, but not bad at all. Did occasionally hear the "gone wild" Quaker Parrots, as they would fly over, and perch on the utility poles, which we enjoyed watching. Rooms were pretty well insulated for noise, I guess. All in all, we were very satisfied with everything about this little "hidden gem", just one block from the Ocean!
Don't forget to visit the nearby Butterfly World and Morikami Museum!! Awesome side trips! We will stay here again! This is now our "home away from home", when visiting our family in Deerfield Beach!
Room Tip: Always ask to see the room, ask questions, first!
