We pricelined a 3.5 to 4 Star hotel in the beach area of Daytona Beach. Unfortunately we got stuck with this hotel. The foyer is very inviting, it's pretty, smells good, and has a nice bar. The front desk staff that assisted us with check-in was rude. He stuck us in a handicap room on the 8th floor. We were in the room for 10 minutes and found a baby cockroach in the bathroom. We went downstairs and the other front desk assistant was apologetic and helpful. Neither staff member at the front desk seemed surprised by my complaint. They moved us to the 6th floor, which is a more modern feeling room. BOTH rooms have gross carpet, with cigarette burns and scuffs. Both rooms had cracks in the walls and both rooms had issues with sounds coming from the hallways. The 2nd room didn't have a cockroach issue (to our knowledge, we're still here at the moment of writing this review). Both rooms could use a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting. The elevator door got jammed and we waited for some time for it to unjam so we could get back downstairs. Also, they claim to have a heated pool. It's a decent pool, but not heated by any means. You will end up paying a $15 resort fee for internet, parking, and telephone useage.
I will never stay here again. I would rather pay $30 more to get a clean room with no insect issues.
Room Tip: Pay the extra money to get a balcony and request the most updated room they have available.
