“Enjoyed our 7-day stay”

We were glad that they honored our request to be on the north side and on 9th floor--we had a great view. The 2 bedroom lockout was perfect for us and our friends. We were disappointed that the pool area was being renovated. Restaurants like Ba Ba Gump's, Sloppy Joe's and IHOP were within a block. A nice Publix was within a mile. It is just on the north end of the boardwalk--very nice.

The staff went out of their way to be nice.

Room Tip: North end--5th floor or higher for a nice view. No personal washer and dryer, but there were mach...

“Unfortunately disappointed”

Stayed this past week-end and was disappointed in the Regency, Suite assigned smelled of stale smoke, sheets had burns, table not secured to legs and oven wasn't in working order. The elevators (2) where very slow and the halls had a mildew smell. The good things was the staff was very pleasant and close to the venue that we were at. Would suggest asking for a suite away from Atlantic St., very noisy. Not sure we would stay again or recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Try and get a suite on the ocean side

“Excellent Value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I highly recommend this hotel. You are near many restaurants, an excellent walking beach(hard packed) and a short bus ride from a grocery store and many clothing stores. If you can get a good price (80$ or so) it's hard to imagine a better place. Rooms are quiet, spacious with full kitchens. 20$ cab ride from the airport and very possible to stay here without renting a car.

Room Tip: Just ask for an ocean view, not a parking garage view

“Lots of Space and Comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We stayed at this property with our daughter and her three young children, on two occasions as we traveled during the holidays. We reserved a two bedroom apartment for both stays.

We found the apartment to be clean, very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we would need during our short time there. The first stay provided us with an apartment on the 8th floor, overlooking the parking lot and front entrance, but because of the vacant lot next to the hotel, we had a good view of the ocean and beach from our balcony. Unfortunately, for our second stay, we were given an apartment on the second floor, looking at, and situated above the dumpsters of the hotel next door. When we asked to be moved, we were told this wasn't a possibility, so the noise from emptying the dumpsters was our alarm clock in the morning!

The hotel's location provides many different eating and shopping options, as well as an entertainment pier withing walking distance. Our stays were too short to visit the amusement area, although I'm sure this is something the children would have loved to do. The hotel's location on the beach, and the adjacent pool area, caused us a delay in the morning, as we planned to leave during our first stay, because the children (and my husband) "accidentally" got caught in the surf, and finished off (since they were already wet) in the pool!!! But their shouts of pleasure certainly made up for the few minutes it took to dry their clothes in the dryer located on each floor of the hotel. I hope we can make another drive through Daytona Beach, so we can stay at the Regency again.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor with a beach view.

“I would stay here again in a "heartbeat".”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We flew into Daytonna Airport which is a short trip to and from our resort by taxi. They were resurfacing the parking lot when we arrived and was still working on it when we left. This property is very well maintained, and all the staff are friendly. I had read other reviews and heard how friendly the staff were, and they are absolutely right. From the front desk persons, to the conceirge staff, and the hotel security, they all acknowledged us in the hallways and were alway greeting us from the front desk on arriving or leaving the hotel. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which faced the resurfaced parking lot and we could also see the ocean from our room. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were very comfortable and the linens in excellent shape. The Tiki Hut was a welcome addition to the hotel, and we ate lunch there several days, good snacks, and drinks. The ocean is just a short distance from their outdoor pool which made it nice to go to and from the ocean and to the pool area. It was nice to see the hotel making improvements and when we were there they were installing new lighting in the center of the main lobby area. The complaint of slow elevators was not an inconvenience at all, and the wait did not seem overly long at all...and since we were on vacation, we weren't looking for any speed elevators. Also the smell that I noticed was more of a usual hotel cleaner... and it certainly wasn't a bad smell at all...but more of a typical hotel smell. I was surprised at the amount of eating places and places to buy groceries in close proximity of our resort...all in walking distance. I was surprised at the size of the other resorts close to ours, ours being so much smaller, but definately worth the stay. The empty lot next to ours appeared to be cleaned and the sign says it has been sold. I would stay here at the Regency ....in a heartbeat.
