“A very nice stay in Daytona Beach!”

Just left a 2 day stay at the Shores. I purchased our room from Priceline and got a pretty good deal. We stayed in an oceanfront room with a fantastic view. The staff was very nice. The restaurant in the hotel was pretty good too. I wasn't too much thrilled with the $17 a day resort fee. It included internet access but it worked intermittently at best. Yet, I think I would stay here again.

“Last minute Staycation: to die for!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011 via mobile

Love love love it here. Beautiful location, beautiful hotel, wonderful service. We brought our five month old son here..drank wine by the fire pits and ordered amazing room service. Also very impressed with the rates :)
Had an awkward incident with the maintenance man, but otherwise no complaints!!

“romantic and best staff anywhere. Very impressed. Old world charm.”

Our daughter attends Stetson University and we are from Connecticut. When we visit her we could stay in Deland but the Shores Resort and Spa makes the whole trip an unbelievable experience and worth the driving back and forth to Deland. We had a romantic, beautiful, beach front accomodation, with an attentive staff as well as gourmet dining either inside or on the back deck with ocean views - Our daughter enjoyed tremendously spending her time with us here. It also should be noted that we were there when the Nor'easter hit Connecticut and knocked out our electricity for 7 days - Our trip was only for 4 days. The staff went above and beyond and was so gracious to extend our stay for an additional 4 days at a discounted rate based on the circumstances. We will always return based on their attentiveness, concern, generosity and overall professionalism. 6 stars out of 5. Richard and Mary Ochrym

“Well worth the visit”

We were at the Shores four years ago and liked it enough to return. The hotel has improved since then with internet in the rooms. Everything there is worthy of its four star rating. It is right on the beach with a large pool and patio area where you can socalize or be on your own - whichever you wish. The hotel charges a resonable resort fee which includes internet and parking. When you arrive, if they give you room 325, ask for another one. It seems to be the only room with a lousy view.

Room Tip: Don't take room room 325 or its neighbour. They look out over the driveway roof.

“I would live here if I could!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

What a wonderful place! I had the pleasure of staying here in Dec 2010 (sorry for taking so long to write this). Pulling up to the hotel I could tell I was in for a treat. Check in went smoothly. When I made my registration online I asked for a quiet room so I was a little concerned when I got off the elevator and found my room right across from it. As soon as I opened the door though I realized I had nothing to worry about as there was a small hallway between the first and second entrance to the room. What a wonderful idea!

I couldn't believe how large the room was. Everything was amazing!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. One thing that has stuck with me is that upon retrieving my car from the valet, the valet asked where I was headed. When I said Jacksonville he said "oh that's a long drive, take a cold water with you". To me that goes the extra mile and say a lot about the staff of the hotel.

A couple of minor complaints. I was surprised they charged for wireless as part of a "resort fee", but seeing my employer was paying for it I didn't complain. In this day and age though I think charging for internet is uncalled for. Also, they were working on the roof at the time and this was a little noisy in the morning, but management made me aware of this at check in and offered a free cocktail hour for all guests to make up for the inconvenience.

All in all I was very happy with my stay and should I ever find myself back in the area I will gladly stay here again.
