My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night for the Budweiser Shootout. The hotel was just two levels and it was right off of Atlantic Ave. Parking is convenient because it is right outside of your doorstep. Just be careful when you back out of parking and don't accidentally back out into traffic!! There was a small window attached to the office where you check in. You ring the doorbell and wait a bit for someone to come see you. Once the man opened the window the smell of cigarette smoke came all out. I don't like smoke and I was not happy about that. I thought I reserved a room on 2nd level, but it was all booked by more people smoking. I was afraid the place might burn down that night.
Once we opened the door the smell of smoke came visiting my nose again. Our room was quite big with a full kitchen. The room had 2 beds and a bar area with 2 bar stools. There were some drawers and a television. The bathroom was a good size, but the floor had this big yellow/brown stain a bit bigger than a basketball. They probably need to replace the tiles in the bathroom. In the kitchen there was a door to the back patio. There was someone's house behind the fence which I thought it was a little funny.
There was a convenient beach access right across the street and a 7 Eleven RIGHT next door to the hotel. We went there so many times the clerk there thought we had no life. It was just about 10 steps from our door.
After a little while in the room I started getting a headache because of the smell of smoke. When we left for the race and came back the smell was there. When we left the hotel the next day the smell was stuck on our pillows, towels, clothes, and bags.
Check-out took a little a longer than I expected. Nobody answered our ring for more than 5 minutes. A nice housekeeping lady was kind enough to take the key from us and told us that we can take our time leaving the room.
Overall the place would've been fantastic for if it was smoke free. I may consider this hotel again next time we go down to Daytona Beach.
