My husband and I stayed here for 4 days 12/27-12/31. We were meeting family at the last minute for a week of Disney. Saving money on the hotel to be able to splurge on a Disney resort for NYE was big on my list. I booked this motel for around $40 and set my expectations accordingly.
The hotel is set back from the road within walking distance to a burger king, waffle house and 7-11. I believed I reserved a king smoking but we were given 2 doubles. I had asked for a fridge on check and was told I could maybe move rooms in a day or so. After seeing the small beds, we called down and Ben moved us to a king room with a fridge and microwave for a few dollars more.
For our needs, it was perfectly fine. We needed a comfortable place to sleep, and this did the job. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. Had neighbors but didn't hear them. Our key stopped working but they took care of it quickly. Something important to me is possibility of bedbugs in a cheapie hotel...the mattress was somewhat new and good condition with no trace of critters. Coffee, muffins, juice and cereal in the lobby. Issues? Well the tub faucet leaked (no biggie) and I wore socks whenever I was in the room, no wifi in room (lobby) but I have a data tethering plan so I didn't need it. If you plan on staying in a room like a resort, this may not be your motel, but if you plan on hitting the parks hard and need a place to just sleep, this a 15 minute drive from Disney in the opposite direction of traffic.
As a Florida resident, I understand the musty/moldy complaints. Florida is damp. We have big bugs. That said, if you're in Florida and planning to stay here? Bring your pillows, towels and sheets. Sounds strange but you can make any room comfortable. Try to get a ground floor room, hauling luggage upstairs isn't fun.
I'd stay again. Thanks!
