“An excellent hotel that is great for children.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This was the second time in 2 consecutive years we have been to this hotel as we have found this hotel to offer everything we need. The rooms are large and offer either one king size bed or 2 large double beds, the bathroom is large and clean and we've been lucky enough to enjoy good views of the pool and golf course. It's very child freindly, of which we were first concerned about with such a classy hotel but they welcome children with open arms. The breakfast buffet has plenty of choice, in fact you wouldn't need lunch if ate enough breakfast. The swimming pool great for kids! It's lazy river entertains the kids for hours and we found that our daughter enjoyed staying at the hotel pool more so then visiting the water parks, in fact she asked when we were going back to the hotel as she wanted to go in the pool. There's plenty of entertainment for children too with different activities they can enjoy throughout the day and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One particular waiter I must say was very friendly and really made our holiday. He always remembered us and took time to come over to have a quick chat. He also made recommendations on various attractions which was very helpful too. The only down sides of this hotel was the resort fee of approx $16 per day and the prices of the restaurants for evening meals, we often ate out at the many 'cheap' restaurants in the local area. This hotel is approx 10 mins from Disney and 25 mins from Universal so if your looking for a hotel on the door step of the attractions then this hotel is not the one. We preferred the distance from the the attractions as we liked the fact we could come away from it all and relax at this hotel. If want a hotel that isn't over brimming with people then this hotel is great at off peak times (we went in May) except try to avoid Memorial day as it fills up and you don't stand a chance in getting round the pool. Other then that I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in fact were looking forward to our next visit to Omni.

Recently stayed at the Omni as a guest of the hotel from a previous unsatisfactory visit. This experience was overwhelmingly better than the first. The room and service were top notch. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, and the overall experience was outstanding. Although it is a little off the beaten path, but very close to Disney, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

“Management should win award for excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Our conference was here, and we had stayed here the year before without any particular impression either way, so we had no expectations. But WOW. What a change!!! There were an abundance of towels, which really gave a sense of comfort, even though we didn't use all of them. Hotel is spotless, every single employee was well trained and behaved as if they were personally invested in our satisfaction. Our mattress and pillows were fabulous, although another colleague said theirs was not, so check for renovated room. Our room was truly beautiful, and "perfect" --- with no signs of wear --- no peeling paper, and no allergy producing scents or annoying chemical odor. It was as if every single detail had been lovingly attended to. I wouldn't usually notice this type of thing, but it was SO noticeable. All about the hotel, I observed excellence. The care they are giving to every public and private space is downright amazing to me. Even the banquet food was good, with tender filet mignon (shocker), and a great chicken parmigiana lunch. We ordered room service 3 mornings; each time it arrived 10 minutes prior to our requested time. I finally figured out that that is their goal. (under-promise, over-deliver). Finally, on the last day, they forgot an order of toast. Aha, I thought. A flaw. But when I called, they warmly and immediately took charge, and assured me that it would be up on the next out-go from kitchen. I timed about 3 minutes. As a business owner, I am fascinated when a business gets it right, and this one is worthy of study.

Room Tip: Our room was on 12th floor, was quiet and wonderful.

“We go every 4th of July”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stay in the Omni Villas right off the gold course. A 2 minute way from the pools and main hotel. We like it because it is like a beautiful mini apartment. The two bedroom has another small room with a sleeper sofa...so for me its like a 3rd bedroom. I have have 4 kids...ages 6-17.

Moe the waiter at breakfast will serve you coffee and always takes care of us. The villa concierge even ran to 711 for us to get snacks. The pool and lazy river are great. It can get crowded...so i get up to get a chair in the sun.

The kids programs are great and if you eat in Davids and leave your child in camp omni...its half off...and your kids come home with 5 art projects and have dinner(you order for them) Its included in the hourly rate.

The Mears transportation isn't the greatest...we rent a car...go to downtown disney etc...

We go back every year...and love it!!!

Room Tip: The villas are amazing....at first we wanted to be in the main building with 2 connecting rooms...bu...

Dear toni I,

Thank you for being our guest and for pointing out the benefits of staying in the villas (and for sharing your great photos!!). We are glad to hear that you enjoy the recreation amenities with your family. We have planned recreation in store for families traveling over the upcoming Spring Break and Summer season and hope you are planning to return. Regarding the transportation, we have made a change since your last stay to a new transportation company and are now offering non-stop service to all four Disney theme parks (no additional hotel stops). We are receiving great feedback from our guests on the new company and service. We look forward to your next stay with us.

Kind regards!

“Nice place but poor location and over-priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is my second time to stay at this hotel. Both times for a convention.

Nice hotel inside and the grounds are very nice. But (and it is a BIG but), there are many things with this hotel that are poor:

(A) Location --- if you don't want to eat in one of the over-priced resort restaurants, you will have to drive to off-site place. Near to the hotel, the only option is a Chili's, a McD's and a small Chinese place.

(B) Price -- everything is way over-priced here. They charge for parking, despite having a huge lot with nothing around the hotel. They charge more than $2 for a can of Diet Coke. Even at conference rate, the per night price was $199.

(C) Internet --- included in room fee but extremely slow.

So, this is nice place to stay but it is not convenient and over priced.
