“Perfect hotel for pre & post cruising”

For the fourth time we stayed at the Sleep Inn prior to a cruise. Complimentary shuttles from airport to hotel and from hotel to cruise port were prompt, courteous and greatly appreciated. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and has a very good breakfast. Location is excellent with a Walgreens, two restaurants and a grocery store just across the street. The ocean is about a mile away and easily walked. Federal Highway #1 is about half a mile away and gives easy bus service to the riverwalk and Las Olas Blvd. We'll be back!

“Would stay again pre-cruise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed before a cruise on January 28, 2012, got a good deal compared to other FLL hotels at $121 total. Chose this hotel for free shuttle from airport and to cruise terminal, and free breakfast.

We arrived around 5:30pm Saturday evening. Airport pick up was very quick, we called and the van was already waiting at the airport. Booked shuttle to Port Canaveral for next morning. 11am shuttle was full, so went on the 10:30am which was perfect, got to cruise ship with no line and literally walked on. We were in hot tub on the ship by 11:20.

Location is OK if you're not looking to be close to the beach. Beside a Walgreen's and across from a plaza with a Publix and a couple restaurants. Ate at the Italian restaurant and got a huge pizza, salad and two sodas for $20! Was nice to have fridge and microwave in room for leftovers.

Breakfast was good. Waffle makers, a few different kinds of juice and the usual breakfast items.
Pool area was very nice and quiet.

Would definitely stay here next time we cruise out of Fort Lauderdale.

“good precruise hotel”

We stayed here after flying into Ft Lauderdale and before our cruise. Hotel provides free shuttle from airport and to cruiseport. Also provides free breakfast and a microwave and fridge in room.Check in was fast and our rooms were great. Located across from buffet breakfast area and across from the pool/spa area. We didn't use the pool but sat outside around it at night and had a few drinks before going to bed. Walgreens is right next store but we found it to be very expensive. There is a grocery store across the street which was more cheaper to buy shampoo etc. There is also a mall with three restaurants, Italian, Mexican and Chinese. We chose to eat at the Chinese which looks like a take out restaurant but it did have a few tables. Food was yummy and we even had a lot left over for a midnight snack.
Make sure you reserve your pickup for cruise port as soon as you arrive at hotel as it fills up fast.

Room Tip: ground floor off breakfast buffet and pool/spa is great location

“Good for pre-cruise – but a couple of suggestions.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Second time for pre-cruise, too bad that Vic is gone. Friendly, good location near last minute shopping and restaurants, cold AC, quiet rooms, free breakfast was OK, free internet and shuttle to and from the airport and cruise port.

I reserved online at Choice Hotels, cancellation possible to 4 PM day before. I checked hotel day before, went down $25 so I re-booked.

At check-in I said no room safe. Next day I saw they charged my credit card for safe, took 20 mins to fix while waiting for the shuttle to the ship :(
Will pay cash if we stay next time.

“A Pleasant Four Days”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed at the Sleep Inn, Dania from January 12-16th. This gave us several nights to develop an overview of the hotel and its facilities. First of all, I will say, if you want the Hilton, stay at the Hilton. If you want a clean, unpretentious middle of the road hotel with lots of conveniences this is it.

We phoned from the airport and were promptly picked up gratis by the hotel van. As we arrived at the hotel, we noticed that there was plenty of free parking on the grounds. The lobby entrance had four luggage carts, more than we've seen anywhere else. We were checked in quickly. Our room had all the basics including a new flat screen t.v., fridge, microwave and safe. When we had an issue with the safe, someone came immediately and repaired the problem. If we had a suggestion, it would be that the room could have used a second chair.

Facilities included an outdoor pool and hot tub, a computer, a printer with a nominal fee for each page requested. The gym was small with three machines. There was a much appreciated laundry room with a washer and dryer for use by guests. They cost $1.25 in quarters. Soap and fabric softener were available for purchase at the front desk at $1 a box.

A complimentary breakfast was included and consisted of cereals, hot oatmeal, misc. breads and pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, biscuits and gravy, juices, tea and coffee. We appreciated that tea and coffee were available all day.

There's a Walgreen's next door and a small plaza with restaurants, a Dollar Tree and a Publix grocery store across the street.

I found the housekeeping staff to be particularly helpful and personable. One young woman checked to see if we needed any additional toiletries. Another maid saw that I had a cut on my arm as I entered the elevator. She located me in the computer room and offered me bandaids. When I asked about a specific church denomination, the desk clerk printed off and gave me a list of all those nearby.

We were going on a cruise and required the van to take us to the port terminal on Monday Jan.16th. Reservations for this are made at the front desk a day in advance, so on Sunday morning we asked for a ride at 11 a.m. the next day. We were placed on the list. There were no problems. Again it was free and we left at the requested time.

We were pleased with the service and amenities at the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to our friends.
