I stayed at ESA Coral Gables 5 nights in November. I had never before stayed at an ESA Hotel. I chose the hotel mainly because it is centrally located in Coral Gables. Rooms are spacious and clean. Equipment is somewhat old but that did not bother me. Staff was very friendly and helpful. However, I never thought that I had booked an hotel that didn´t include the daily room cleaning. After asking at the fornt desk I was told this is "standard policy" at ESA. I asked for room claening for an additional fee. But by mistake this wasn´t done either. At 100$/night I would expect some service. On the 4 th night our room was stinky.

I was in this hotel twice, in february (high season) and in august 2011. First time my fiance and I were there for a week: it was very good, the room was simple but well organized, except for the bad smell from the coffee machine (i'm italian and i don't like a freezing room, but if we turned off the conditioner the stink was very bad).
This august instead we were there for 19 days. A complete cleaning was scheduled every 7 days. We arrived on saturday and next wednesday housekeeping just changed our towels. After ten days we expect that housekeeper would have vacuumer, but it did not happen: she just replaced our towels and the bed.
After 18 days, the day before our departure, housekeeping has not come.
Moquette in our room was dirty, there were dog hairs (at 4 floor there was a guest with his dog), window glasses were dirty and the curtain was black because someone before us tried to polish the glass with it. On the floor we found coins and a clay pendant, it was near the television and maybe it's still there.
The only positive thing is the proximity to Miracle Mile, a beautiful place, but i'll never return in this hotel.

I was hesitant to stay at this ESA after reading the below review, so I toured the hotel before booking my stay. The room I saw and the room I ended up staying in had absolutely no bed bugs.
I spoke to a staff member about the issue and he told me that there had been a guest who got a rash and blamed it on the hotel having bed bugs.

I thought I had a reaction from one of the dogs at work but it ended up being bed bugs all the time. I was reading a book and they started crawling in my bed. I had bites everywhere in my body. I was traumatized. They changed me rooms in the same floor, guess what? More bugs.. they took me to the hospital to get checked, washed all my clothes and then changed me to another ESA hotel location. Both hotel were the same, DIRTY, Filthy rooms!! They do not clean. DO not STAY HERE EVER!!!!!
