“C and D buildings are a must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We rented through a friend who sold us his floating week back in March 2010. We stayed in building D, 4th floor, unit 16. This review is a little late but hopefully will shed some good light on this resort. We has a wonderful stay! Ocean front was a MUST for me, and I got it in this building. It is important to know that Ocean Landings has different sections to stay. You want C and D if you want Ocean Front, as all of these units have it. Being on the 4th floor was incredible and perfect. For me, being in Florida is all about being around the water and enjoying the view. The unit was a bit dated, but I could have cared less! The beds were comfortable, I felt the unit was clean, and hte kitchen suited us just fine. We dont care about fancy, we got what we wanted. Cocoa Beach is a great town, with the pier just down the street from the resort. We went there often, my hubby loves the bread pudding at the pier restaurant, and you can view the ocean from the tables closest to the windows.
We are HOPING to rent again at this resort in March.

Room Tip: Obviously the higher you are the better the view. I would shoot for the third floor and up.

“Old converted property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

This was a time share excahnge. We had stayed here last year and were given a nice beach front condo and really enjoyed it. This year, they put us in a converted hotel room up by the street. It was OK, but kitchen was way too small. Would not stay here again unless we are guaranteed beach front.

Room Tip: only stay in beach front condo section

Dear Pkmule,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay at our resort. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your oceanfront accommodation last year, however, we apologize that your recent stay did not meet your "expectations." We certainly hope that you will give Ocean Landings another opportunity to provide you with an exceptional vacation experience. You may have booked your previous reservations through one of our exchange companies and unfortunately we are not able to "guarantee" any room type other than the unit assigned by the exchange company, however, we do accommodate nightly rentals booked directly through Ocean Landings reservation department. This way you can book an oceanfront room and guarantee this is the unit that you will be placed into. In addition, we do allow for upgrades at the time of check in. Please keep this in mind when booking your future stay. Thank you again for your feedback and we wish you safe travels.

Sincerely,

Management

“20 years of coming to these appartments and still treated badly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We have been coming here for around 20 years and sometimes twice a year. At first we loved this place. As other people say the views from the upper appartments are great. If you book in advance you probably will not get the appartment you booked. You may think you have an appartment with a great view but in my view they save all the best view appartments for the "walk-ins" so they can show them a great appartment. We had been booked into the top floor appartment one year and were really looking forward to the great views we would get only to find they had put us on the first floor with no view at all only a fence and the bushes. We complained to the front desk before moving into the appartment but were told they could not do anything because they were not the reservations staff and they did not work weekends. We complained to the manager and for that week we got nowhere but for the second week we were moved into a better appartment. The same thing happened to us again this holiday but we were put into the second floor with a very restricted view of the ocean even though I had e-mailed them and asked them for the rooms we had booked. We stayed in the appartment for the first week but asked to be moved the second week. After some arguing they eventually moved us to the third floor. This was better but not the forth and fifth floor that we had booked for the first and second week respectively.

We have found over the years that the standard of cleanliness has been going "down hill". If you are not bothered about dust under the furniture and someone elses socks under the bed, the rusty dish washer and fridge then this may be the place for you. On the surface it looks clean but on closer inspection it is not. However I believe there is some remodelling going on so perhaps things will change but we did not see any evidence of it in the two appartments we stayed in.

The area itself is wonderful. A very quiet beach to relax on and it is the nearest coast to the attractions which is the best of both worlds. You can sit on the balcony at night listening to the sea and watching the strars and the moon come up. In the mornings you can watch the sun rise which is a beautiful sight when the sky looks almost like a sunset. You can watch the cruise ships going out from port Canaveral. They sail past the appartments.

If you like the wildlife go down to the Nassa wildlife park at Tittussville and if you are very quiet and drive round very slowly you may see the alligators soaking up the sun. There is also an abundance of wildlife in this area and all free - nothing is in captivity. They ask you to be honest and place $5.00 in an honesty box. But beware, take the mossy cream with you because it is very wild countryside out there they exist out there also.

Talking of wildlife. Again if you are very quiet whilst sat on the balcony in Cocoa Beach in the evenings you may spot a Possum or Raccoon scurrying by. We loved to try and spot them and so do lots of other perople but please do not feed them because the resort traps and kills them. We were horrified to see the traps in the gardens and one was covered with a towel for most of the day so we assumed there was something caught in that trap. it spoilt my holiday completely.

Overall we thought we were not valued as visitors to this resort and were not treated very well at all. We have decided now is the time to move on for us and pick a different place as much as we really do not want to. It is not the place it used to be.

Room Tip: Corner suites have the best view if you are on the top floor or forth floor because they have a wind...

Older property in Cocoa Beach. Our room was clean, but dated. We really enjoyed their pool and their grilling out area. Nice location for long walks on the beach.

“Great Relaxing Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

March 2011 was my 4th visit to Ocean Landings. I stayed in the Dream Building, top floor, 2 bedroom apartment each visit. I love the relaxed mood of OL. I enjoyed the pools although they are not overly big. The hot-tub was full each night, esp. with under 12 kids at 10pm. There should be some rules about that. The view of the beach was awesome.A small resort but it made getting around easy. Can't wait to get back again in 2012. Staff were great and very helpful.

Room Tip: Get a room above the first floor on the ocean side. There are plantings and a fence that block much...
