“Never Again!!!”

My husband and I were in northern FL visiting family and decided to rent a car and drive south for a few days. We ended up here. It looked kind of nasty as we checked in but I figured for one nights stay it would be OK. We threw out luggage in the room and left immediately to get something to eat. When we came back to the room, I had a chance to look around. Everything was stained, dirty and in need of repair badly. The drapes were barely hanging on the curtain rods. The security lock was broken. The side chair looked like someone puked all over it. The carpet and bedspreads had huge stains all over. But again-- one night. My husband went into the bathroom, came out and told me to go outside. He brought out the luggage and we drove over to the office. He told me to wait in the car. I kept asking him what was wrong but he wouldnt tell me. I could see him inside arguing with the clerk. Finally, he came out. As we drove closer to the beach to look for another room, he told me that when he turned the light on in the bathroom, he saw not one, not two, but three cockroaches. He knew if I knew this there was no way I would stay there! He told the clerk about the room and asked for a refund. She refused. She said the room would have to be cleaned again (haha) and the cleaning staff wasnt in that late. She would lose money on the room. He told her we had only been in the room 5 minutes. We threw out luggage on the bed and left for dinner. She said too bad. He insisted. She finally told him if he didnt leave she would call the sheriff. He asked her if she wanted him to wait in the lobby or wait in the car until the sheriff came. It was then that she gave him his money back. When we got to another room, I googled the hotel and found the bad reviews. Never again will I stay at a place without checking them out online first.

“Room door left wide open upon our return from KSC”

We were shocked and frightened to find the door to our room wide open upon our return from a day spent at the KSC. We checked in earlier inthe day, dropped off our bags and headed out. We had even put the do not disturb sign on the door figuring it had been cleaned already. I went immediately to the front desk to let them knownwhat happened and was simply told the manager wasn't in. There was no explanation, no apology, no concern, we still haven't heard from the manager (I asked that he contact me), so it seems this is a normal occurrence here that no one blinks an eye at. Scary, scary place! And to top it off they charged us $180 for the night because of the space shuttle launch. Talk about extortion! Still - I was happy to pay for the proximity, but not at the risk to our stuff and our personal safety. Who knows who could have found there way inside our room? It's somewhat sketchy area to put it mildly. The property managers obvious lack of concern for our property and physical safety is frankly astounding. Another note - the lobby smelled heavy of cigarettes and booze from their adjacent "lounge."

“20 years overdue for a makeover!”

Entire lobby smelled of smoke. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The cleaning staff was terrible. One morning our bed spread was left in the floor. One morning, the dirty towels were not even replaced. The only reason we did not check out was because we were attending a space shuttle launch and everything else in the area was completely booked. Camping out would almost be a step up!

“I would certainly return to this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2010

The personnel at this hotel, were very pleasant during our 3 night stay. The rooms were large, we were in the 1 King Bed, and the bed was very, very comfortable. We stay in many hotels, and slept great here. If you visit you Must stop in Linda's lounge. The clientele is a mix of locals, and hotel guess... Karaoke Wed to Sat. The KJ was wonderful, great voice. Linda's lounge is a smoking bar, but airy enough for the non-smokers as well.
All around the Hotel Stay for my mini vacation was Wonderful... we travel a lot, and would certainly come back to this hotel if back in the area. Thank you for making our stay relaxing.

“Will stay here again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2009

My family and I took a cruise on Nov 19, 2009 out of Port Canaveral. Even though we could have driven down the day of the cruise, we decided to take our time and go the day before. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel that was clean and the a/c worked..we got it here. It was perfect for what we were looking for. The guest services (Chrissy and Reepl) were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean, A/C would freeze you out if you want, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot in rooms, also iron and hairdryer. It is not a fancy hotel. It sits right beside the interstate and it is right next door to a rest stop for trucks but we never heard any noise at all from any of it. We requested connecting rooms on the first floor facing the pool and got it. Continental Breakfast was everything we expected. I highly recommend this hotel and will be using it again on our next cruise. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the port from the hotel. They do not have shuttle but we like to be able to jump in the car and leave at the end of the cruise.
