“Good value, need to know a few things”

Family vacatiion with three kids, 22, 19, 17. Stayed in the two room suite facing the Ocean.
Hotel is very nice, modern and clean. The pool was very warm and large for all to enjoy. There is a small child pool, but there is NOT a hot tub. Towel service was handy at the entrance of the pool. We enjoyed the tiki bar for outside drinks, as well there is an outside restaurant right on the water. There is a coffee shop and ice cream shop located in the lobby area, but we found that to only be open at odd hours and not full time. Be aware that even as a paying guest of the hotel, you will be charged a daily parking fee of $12.00 per day. The location is fantastic and within walking distance of Clearwater Beach, Pier 60, the shops and resturants, you really dont need to use a car once you arrive. You need to know that the hotel has a tiny beach front and it is NOT right outside of the hotel. You need to walk through the parking garage and down a few steps. The beach is a small patch of sand about 50 feet by100 feet.
The good thing is that you can continue to walk down and enjoy the other hotels beach fronts.
There is an on site PWC rental company on the beach front. We did use the laundry facility which had 2 washers and 2 dryers as well there is a paid detergent box dispencer. Overall the hotel was always clean, the staff was friendly, parking was close and easy and location is great. The value for the cost of the room was very good. The only draw back is the lack
of the beach. We will stay at this hotel in the future and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool onto the Ocean. At night the view is increadable and the pool li...

I booked this hotel based on the reviews on here and was not disappointed.Room was nice and clean and staff were very friendly(the maid made my daughters holiday by giving her some vouchers for the gift shop won in the games room).Good value for money considering its on the beach and i loved the fact they provide free internet in the lobby to look up local attractions. The coffee shop was a bonus too.Would stay again.

“Great Place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Really nice rooms. I like how the suites have 2 seperate rooms which is nice if you have kids. Pretty good location (most places to eat are within 1/2 mile). Pool is nice and the resteraunt is good. They also have a coffee shop located next to the lobby with good coffee and muffins.

“Ruined our New Years”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We have a vacation home in Clearwater and this year we decided to spend our New Years Eve on the beach with our best friends that came down from Canada. Prior to booking our hotel, we visited the Holiday Inn at Clearwater Beach and dined at Jimmys. We also asked to view several of their room types. The first gulfview room was on the second floor and looked directly at the rooftop on the restaurant, very misleading for a gulfview! There was not any water in sight, only a roof! Next we viewed another gulfview room on the 5th floor and we happy with the view and updated furnishings. This was the first week of November so we proceeded to make our reservations for New Years, requesting the proper GULFVIEW rooms. Very excited, we arrived at the Holiday Inn Clearweater Beach on New Years Eve at 130 pm. We were prepared to for the 4pm check in, it was a nice day so we wanted to begin our stay with lunch, swim and a toast with our guests. Well, the first shock was the attitude of the clerk at check in, who insisted that we booked only a WATERVIEW! When we supplier our reservation confirmation she then said abruptly she was sold out and all that was available was the beautiful roof view (at the cost of 225 per room). AMY, the manager on duty was called and also in an extremely abrupt manner, insisted that we did not know the view from our rooms. She then demanded that we return at the correct check in time. Not a problem, we went to the pool! Waited endlessly for drinks and to order lunch. Returning at our checkin time, Amy said there nothing she could do and ALLOWED us to see the rooms, 210 and 408! Roof front and wall front, not a glimspe of water! We promptly left the hotel and returned home! We are regulars at Jimmys and have struck them from our books completely HAPPY NEW YEARS TO THE HOLIDAY INN CLEARWATER BEACH!!!! STAY AWAY!

Room Tip: Very misleading room type, even if you upgrade and pay the premium for a gulfview and end up with a w...

“Beautiful View with Balcony”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

We were passing through & decided to find a place with a view of the water. Paid $200 per night for a balcony view. The room had a nice micro/frig. The bed was firm. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent. Paid extra for parking in their open lot. The beach access is limited only when low tide. No easy to get on the beach. Nice pool area with lounge chairs that overlook waterway.
