Staff is very friendly, Room is very clean, A/C is cool-reasonable prices $50 a night that allows pets/carpet is a little old and stained but nothing else to complain about. They give a great free breakfast every morning. Excellent customer service

Love this hotel, but especially the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. Shelly Ablett was a most gracious manager, she put me into the room I needed with no problem. The driver of the airport shuttle van was dressed very professional and good manners, I think his name was Andrea. During my visit the other gal at the desk helped me find my friends on Sunday night when I needed them. The desk also helped me find a good Italian restaurant. I will always stay at this hotel, close to the airport and great restaurants, clean and fun. They actually remembered my name when I came in this time.

To try to make the Days Inn St Petersurg Airport any more than a 2 star hotel would be a mistake. It's an older 4 floor property sandwiched between a closed diner and a "Gentlemans Club." The rooms are a little on the small side and the furnishings are fairly nondescript. What makes this place a treasure is it's staff.

I was checked in By Carol who could not have been more cheerful and welcoming. After a long flight from Boston it was great to be greeted that way. When I requested a room on the 4th floor she happily scanned the computer and was able to get me one. Throughout my stay I saw Carol and the rest of the staff always willing to help the guests with suggestions, directions,recommendations and whatever else they needed. And everyone seemed to be happy to do so.

I mentioned that this is an older property, but my room had everything that is important to me in a hotel room: clean, great water pressure in the shower, fridge and microwave, coffee maker, in room safe and an air conditioner that kept the room cool. The beds are firm and the pillows are soft. The rooms are painted in a soft yellow stucco that makes them seem cheery.

My only complaint was the lack of outlets. The Days Inn was built before the technology revolution so planning for laptops, cell phones, I-pads, etc. wasn't in the cards. I can't single out the Days Inn as I find this to be the case with all older hotels. I should just add an outlet adapter to my travel kit.

A small complimentary breakfast consisting of cold cerial, bagels, muffins, waffles, etc. is available every morning. Be forewarned, though - the toaster is extrememly slow. For the best selection get there early.

The location of the hotel is convenient to Tampa, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, the beaches, and St Pete - where they seem to have some kind of festival every other day.

This property caters to the value conscious. Expect to find truckers, retirees and families on vacation. A nice cross section of America.

In almost every respect, the Days Inn St Petersurg Airport is an ordinary average hotel. What makes it a gem is the staff. It's obvious that management knows that there is tremendous competition for the vacation dollar in Florida and they have decided to carve out their spot with over-the-top customer service.

And they succeed.

I try not to be too critical of the Economy Branded Hotels as I know they are struggling during this down ecconomy, however I expect no excuses for meeting the basic of standards.

The Front Desk Clerk Tonya who check us in was exceptionable with her customer service skills! Very Friendly and filled us in on what was exciting to do in the area! She is a shinning star for this hotel!

Even though Customer Service is a high priorty for me when booking a hotel, cleanliness is the other. And this is where this hotel failed to impress me. My husband noticed dried urine under the seat the first time the restroom was used. When we returned from our day out the room was cleaned however the ashtray was not! The coffee maker was not cleaned out and no resupply of coffee nor cups both coffee and drinking! Freebee! Housekeeping needs to step it up at this hotel! These are the issues that are important to your guests!

And the TV was tempermental. We had to jiggle the cable connection to get a good picture. Freebee! Check your TV's to be in working condition!

Our biggest disapointment was the pool. I choose this one hotel because the pool area looked to be the most secluded from street traffic which it is. We had changed and grabbed our towels thinking we would enjoy a late afternoon swim and some Florida Sun Shine. When we saw the pool we knew a swim was out of the question. The pool had green alge all over the sides! As this is a serious health issue, we headed back to the room without enjoying the pool! Freebee! Clean your pool!

As we sit here my husband is trying to figure out the pay per view. Again a freebee! Directions on how to use the In-Room Entertainment!

Again these issues either cost little to nothing to correct.

Other than this I have to say the decor and furnishings are in good condition and should the above issues be corrected I would gladly stay here again.
