My wife & I stayed here from 23-28 Dec. We were able to check in early as our room was ready. The front desk clerk was friendly & helpful. We had a lage room in the front part of the motel with a micro-fridge. It included cutlery, dishes, single-cup coffeemaker, & a toaster (that set off the smoke alarm, of course). However, we moved to another room upstairs the next day, as both mattresses were just too hard & we were too close to the road so the traffic noise kept me awake. Unfortunately, it had a musty smell from damp carpet. We observed that the rooms w/o micro-fridges were much nicer: well-maintained, larger windows, newer furniture. I would surmise that the majority of positive reviews came from guest that stayed in these nicer rooms. They had lots of free parking. The pool & hot tub area looked nice, with lots of patio furniture. The location is pretty good, close to shopping (Super Target) & a small beach along Tampa Bay adjacent to the Courtney Campbell Causeway to Tampa. The free continental breakfast is pretty good: cereal (2), mini-muffins, mini-bagels, mini-cinnabuns, oatmeal, toast, juice (2), coffee (room coffee was much better), tea, decaf.
CONS: It is a rather old property that could really use some maintenance & improvements in the micro-fridge rooms: replace old, worn out mattresses, replace wobbly chairs & tables in the rooms, replace really old mini-fridges, replace damp carpet, repair the bed lamp cord, replace old, noisy phones, repair room doors that won't close without slamming. Although the A/C unit looked pretty new, it had only heat & cool, no fan only setting. Local calls are not free (25 cents). And, the guest laundry is $2/ machine (which I did not use).
Overall, I would not stay here again unless they made some improvements. Our rate was really good ($49), but the property was below our normal standards.
