“Very good with some minor drawbacks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Good things :
- The hotel itself is very nice and very well decorated. Lobby is charming and the pool is awesome;
- The room was nice and very comfortable
- The staff was in general very kind and helpful (we had a glass of champagne when we checked-in and they gave some beach toys to our son)
- This part of the clearwater beach is for me, the best : no crowd and not plenty of cabins that ruin the view (Like near the Hyatt)

Minor bad things but, you know, when you pay that price :
- We asked for a quiet room but they gave us a room with communicating doors so we were able to hear our neighboors. We had to go back to the front desk to change room. The new one was quiet and nice.
- when checking out, one valet guy offered free bottles of water to the customers who were leaving before us. Then our valet came and did not offer the same thing : why ? I don’t know. We gave him yet a decent tip.

But very pleasant experience overall.

Dear BurnoFlat,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your most recent stay. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay but with the same token I am sorry you experienced a few hiccups. I apologize that you found the first room to be too noisy but I am glad that we were able to accommodate you with another room that suited your needs. As a curiosity for our departing guest we offer bottled water upon departure, I sincerely apologize that you were not offered any water; I assure you it is no reflection of how much you tipped. As your overall experience was a positive one I hope you are able to visit with us again so we may exceed your expectations.

The first week in April will be my 5th visit to this property--the first with my kids. I have had 2 meetings at the Sandpearl and all I can say is first class!! The staff from the valet to the front desk to my friend Katheryn with the champagne are all wonderful and treated my group like family. Larry and Lynn who set up our events did a great and made me look great!! Try this hotel and you will not be disappointed!!

“Very Nice Facility with Excellent Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The resort is in a very good location and rests on a large white sand beach facing the Gulf of Mexico. It is a mid-sized, well-maintained property with a restful atmosphere and comfortable rooms with a fridge...for a good price. Although my husband and I went there for a small business conference, we were superbly attended by an excellent staff. The concierge was very helpful with arranging many side activities. We did not use the spa, but the pool was large and very nice, facing the beach. We hope to revisit the Sandpearl in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the beach, look out over garages...recommend getting a higher floor for nicer view.

“The height of excellence”

Even though I arrived late after a delayed flight the service was instantly professional. A valet to park the car, smiling polite and helpful reception staff offering a glass of champagne. Instantly relaxing. Superb sea view junior suite was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The next 3 days just got better with professional cheerful and knowledgable staff throughout the hotel. Superb food, a delightfully situated hotel. I cannot think of a better hotel that I have styled at. Already planning the next visit even though it involves a transatlantic flight - this hotel is that good.

Room Tip: Go for the junior suite, spacious and superbly appointed. Wonderful beds.

“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My husband and I traveled to the Sandpearl from Jan 18-22. We were met at the Tampa airport by someone from Ambassador Limousine which I booked online (I highly recommend them). It was 1/2 hr to the hotel. The Sandpearl is gorgeous! We were upgraded through our Travelocity package to a junior suite facing the Gulf. The room was spacious and very clean.I also asked that it be on the left side of the resort away from Frenchy's restaurant so it wouldn't be too noisy as other trip advisor users have mentioned. There was a refrigerator in the room which was helpful. On Wed when we arrived, we had lunch at the Clear Sky next door to the resort-good drinks/food-bar quality food. We stocked up on beer/soda etc at CVS which is a block away. We had room service that night which was very good. I will have to say, there were not a lot of people staying here as apparently Jan is not a big month for this area of FL. The next day we went to the beach and had some drinks-I will tell you that most cocktails are over $10 with tax and tip-and they are pretty small-not even 12 oz. So be careful-we racked up a bigger bill than we had hoped on drinks. Other restaurants we tried were Frenchy's, Mandalay Grille, and a sushi place above the Brown Boxer which was fantastic! There are plenty of affordable restaurants in a two block radius of the hotel. We also had lunch at the cafe on the beach of the Sandpearl which was excellent. The ocean is beautiful-it was too cold for us to swim. The beach is very broad and the Sandpearl only has chairs up by the resort. Also, it is right next to the public beach access so I can see that it would get crowded at high season. The pool is beautiful too although the water was too cold to swim. The only negative I can think is the nickle and diming-$25 if you want a beach umbrella-$25 if you want to use a bike etc. And don't forget the $25 resort fee per day + tax. There is a list of what this 'resort fee' is for and it is becoming standard at most places but I still think its ridiculous. Maybe they should just charge $25 more per day on the room and leave it at that. And the only other negative is that the walls between the rooms are pretty thin-you can hear most of what goes on in the room next door mostly the bathroom!
I would definitely return to this resort and highly recommend
