This "resort" (ha! - that cracks me up!) is on a whole street of small motels that are a flashback to another time - a time when neon lights proudly announced "T.V. and telephones in every room!" I can appreciate the motel's antique charm. After all, this is the type of place that my family, and so many millions of others, stayed in while on family vacations. In fact, I think I saw some old relatives there - leathery older women chain smoking by the pool.
But, I guess my standards have changed since the 70s.
Bathroom - Tile and tub were recently resurfaced, making it look clean and ultra-white, but the plaster was peeling off the walls like crazy. And the towels were my main complaint with this place. They were Holiday Inn rejects (literally - had HI tags still on them); so old they were paper thin and generally discolored. Please, of all the things to skimp on, bath towels is not one!!!
Sheets - must have come from the same place as the towels. Mine actually had a hole in it.
TV - it worked but the sound was all wacky, making it hard to understand what people were saying. Could clearly hear what people above us were saying though - those walls are thin.
A/C - actually, this is more about the upstairs A/C. When they turned theirs on, it dripped condensation on our A/C unit, making a loud "THUMP" in our room. It was 10 PM when it first happened and luckily two workers were still in the office. I asked them to help out with the problem and they were clearly frustrated with having to deal with that at such a late hour. But they were nice about it and put a pot with a towel in it on top of our A/C to muffle the noise.
"Free Internet" - yea, it's free, but it's not strong enough to get a signal in the room. Don't plan on actually using it here.
Overall, it wasn't a horrible stay, but I'd choose somewhere else next time, for sure.
