We have stayed in this motel for 13 nights. Everyone here is wonderful and go out of their way to make our stay very pleasant. We have had a large room with fully equipped kitchen and it is always cleaned and fresh towels delivered daily. We loved the pool area(clean) and the beach is always nice and very close from the motel. . Plenty of places to eat (great food )in a walking distance from the hotel. We have no complaint about this motel at all.and recommend to everyone especially if you have kids.
Enjoyed our stay, very close to everything. This is an old motel but doesn't have that musty odor that some beach places get. I appreciated the no smoking room and even though the bed squeeked, the mattress was comfy and we slept great. They hang their sheets and towels on a clothes line in the back of the motel so they smell fresh, like MOM's sheets smelled as a kid. :-) So if you're looking for clean, comfy, nothing fancy at a good price, this is the place.
When planning our Florida vacation there was NO discussion on where we were going to stay!! For 3 years in a row my family has returned to Sands Point and would never stay in any other motel in all of Clearwater!! This was my first year going to Florida, I was traveling with my 5 & 6 year old kids. We stayed 4 Nights and 5 days (i wish it could have been forever!!) The views sitting by the pool are unmatched by the "bigger, expensive" motels found on Coronado Drive. The decor both inside and out is exactly what you would expect to find when traveling to tropical regions, bright colors with a "beach" flair, it was PERFECT! The rooms were way more than we could have asked for!! We had 2 rooms side by side, One room featured a Good sized kitchen with a table, stove, fridge, and all the cooking supplies we needed!!!! A futon for seating to watch television, there was also a recliner for the ultimate relaxation, with 2 beds and a beautiful bathroom. The other room (the one I stayed in) was Perfect, bright colors, plenty of storage, a fridge and microwave, the tv was up high on the wall (perfect for watching in bed at night) It has more Closet space then i have in my own bedroom ( and for myself, my 17 & 19 year old sisters it was a blessing!!!) The bathroom had a great shower and plenty of room!!!! The pool area was well stocked with seating and tables, we never felt crowded or as if we had to "share" anything, there are complimentary pool floats, it was the best!!!
Now that I have told you about my stay I want to tell you about the motel! The owners are two of the nicest people in all of Florida, they would do ANYTHING to assure we were comfortable!! They spoke to us everytime they saw us, they would recommend things that we would like to do or places we would like to eat. They were very attentive! Our rooms were cleaned every morning, the garbage was removed, the towels were restocked without question. They swept and mopped everyday, our room stayed clean our whole stay! The Pool was always clean and Clear!!! GORGEOUS!! The decor was perfect including tiki hut tables and shells galore!!! We spent more time sitting outside then we spent inside the rooms! There is an outside shower to rinse the sand from the beach off of us so we didn't have to stand in those horribly long lines at the beach! Everything was in walking distance.....and I mean EVERYTHING....Ocean, shops, food, bars, Pier 60, putt-putt golf, game rooms, you don't even have to get in your car to have the time of your life! Not only would my entire family NEVER stay anywhere else in Clearwater, we look forward to every opportunity to return!
P.S.--- One night on our way home from Pier 60 at 12:00 am we came into our rooms and found there was a problem with our air conditioners and they weren't working in either room. It was begining to storm quite heavily, we called the owner and explained our problem on the 24 hour emergency line, and he showed up with-in 15 minutes and the air was back on in no time!!! That is dedication to thier customers!!!
Well our stay didn't start well we dealt directly with the owners and when we arrived they said they knew nothing about our booking,,, luckly I had all our E Mails to confirm our booking [from the owners] after nearly having an arguement they said the only room they had left was a bigger room than we had booked so we would have to pay more than the agreed rate we had booked. we were then given a room that was very noisy and one of the blinds didn't even work the bathroom was so small you had to contort yourself to get to the toilet. The location was OK but there are so many in a better location, the parking was only on the street and not secure.
Would I stay again NO Would I recommend NO
