Country inn and suites
Check in is at 3 and check out is at noon. There are cookies available at the counter.
We stayed here on a Friday night for their Stay and Cruise Package. You are assigned to a shuttle only upon arrival so we were on an 11:30 shuttle, later than I had hoped. ( I had asked for the earliest in a note when I made the reservation)
There were no rooms in the cheapest category that I had booked so we were given a King Jacuzzi room. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. It overlooked the pool area which looked nice but is only open dawn to dusk, with no after hours lighting, which is a shame. It would have been very nice at night and I did see parents carefully watching their children swim in the dark as it was still early for active children to settle down.
The room had the jacuzzi set up in one corner of the room, a 25 inch older tube TV, a king bed which was very comfortable, two wing chairs with a table between, a wet bar area with small sink, under counter fridge and a small microwave. This would be useful if you were actually staying in the area and wanted to save money on meals, which are very expensive in this area.
The bathroom area had the large sink vanity open to the room with a small coffee maker. The toilet and shower were in a small separate room. The shower was a small stall and had good water pressure but there was no way to escape the water if you wanted to shave your legs or even soap up thoroughly. We had no shampoo on our counter so had to go down to the desk for some. Instead of the typical bottled toiletries to match the conditioner and lotion we did have we were given one of those promotional packets you occassionally get in the mail. The closet was very small but did have an iron and board.
Breakfast is provided and consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage links and herbed cubed potatoes. There was salsa and cheese to dress the eggs. They also had a waffle station, cold boiled eggs, thawed frozen fruit medley, oranges, and bananas which were still green. A toaster area had white bread, bagels and english muffins. There was a variety of cold cereals and oatmeal.
There is a laundry room. I would not want to stay near the elevators as it had a very loud female voice proclaiming each floor and the rooms were not very sound proof. You could conceivably hear that all night long.
This area is easy to find but is in the industrial area of the port, and not near the beach. For an overnight stay before a cruise it would be perfect but if you want to see the area beaches I would suggest something on the beach.
Parking for the cruise is in either the paved side parking or gravel parking in front of the property. There is no shade and you are given a tag to hang from your mirror which negates the use of a sunshade in the window. Pick up was a bit confusing as there are several ships' passengers being shuttled. You need to find the person with the clipboard to check in and then make sure you know when your name is called. Either we did not hear our name or she skipped us because I noticed she called a name farther down the list. I went over to make sure we did not miss something and were immediately put on a shuttle with both NCL and CCL cruisers. My husband stood with another man in the aisle while the driver directed me and the other woman to the very rear seat. We had to climb over people and luggage and at one point in the journey the luggage pile shifted and landed on my foot so be wary of this.
They also had another shuttle which towed a trailer behind it loaded with the luggage which would be safer if you have children with you. The driver spoke so fast and there was so much noise we could not hear a thing about what to do when we got back but there is a number on your return shuttle ticket to call. When you disembark the Port Agents know exactly where to direct you.
We waited about 15 minutes for the shuttle, arrived back to the car safe and sound. If you were staying on that night before departing you could eat breakfast. We were not but were offered coffee and bathroom use before departing. Would definitely stay here again for a cruise.
Do not book near elevator because of constant automated floor announcements
