“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This is a belated review from our stay in May11 . We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 1 week , cant recall the number it was the end one ( swimming pool end) on the ground floor . We are glad we requested this apartment as I would think the apartments at the other end of the resort may be disturbed by the road noise . Speaking of noise - you can hear noise from upstairs - there was a family with young children above us for some of the days and we heard alot of banging and scrapping chairs when ever they were in ( luckily not too often) . there was a couple in this apartment after this and we heard no noise at all. The room was cleaned everyday and we had no issues with cleanliness or facilities within the room.
The apartment is a nice size for 2 people except the bathroom is on the small size - and has everything you need if you want be self catering - nice modern kitchen . The bed was very comfortable and as the bedroom is at the back of the aprtment is very quiet . You dont have individual balconies or terraces - 2 chairs and tables outside each apartment on the walkway so if you want a private outside space this is not for you .However there are plenty of Sunbeds by the swimming pool - never saw anyone there and the rooftop terrace has very comfy sunbeds and tables/chairs - loved watching the sunset , with a nice glass of wine, most evenings of our stay , only downside is the roof terrace is very close to the road so not too quiet - it didnt bother us though.
We spent alot of time each day walking along the beautiful beach and can highly recommend the beach for all ages and families ,Saw manatees in the water nearly everyday. the only other down side of the location of the apartments is that it is on the main road through the island, which can get quite busy and it is just by a bend in the road so can be difficult to see the vehicles coming from the south of the island and can take a while to cross the road .
The trolley is a great way to see the island , trolley stop no more than a minutes walk from the apartments , You may want to use it in the evenings if you are going to dinner and want a drink , there are not too many places to eat within reasonable walking distance . The publix is a few minutes drive up the road , and we discovered on our last night a lovely pub - with fantastic pizza's just down from publix ( always the same- finding good places on the last night :) ) which we can highly recommend.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Beach club , It is slightly overpriced for what you get - but alot of places in the area seem to be . We would go back if it was just the 2 of us but Long Boat and Siesta Keys both caught our eye whilst we were in the area and we would like to try them first before going back to AMI .

Room Tip: Upstairs room Away from the road - there is a map on the website

“Nice, clean and simple”

Condos are nice and very clean. Nothing glamorus --Small & quaint. Nice pool and hot tub. Nice neighborhood. Beach is directly across the street and you can walk it for miles. Kind of a sleepy town in January.

We were here for a girl's weekend. Good place to just chill. Beach was quiet. You will need to drive to town for dining or entertainment. They heated the pool extra warm for us since the hot tub was broke during the first day. They only have 2 beach chairs per condo and 2 chairs on the patio at the table.

Front desk staff was superb.

“Reasonable not great”

we stayed 2 nights in the 2 bedroom unit. It is a compact unit with a sofa and chair sort of in the kitchen, tv mounted on the wall. bedrooms and bathrooms are all good. Clean except for broken glass on the floor that our one year old discovered, previous tenant had broken the glass coffee table, unfortunately this had not been very well cleaned up. The deck is very nice but the little things were problematic....ie umbrellas on the deck worn out and had to get assistance to tie them to stay up, celing fans in bedroom were a nightmare, felt like there was a helicopter overhead and airconditioning noisy, also really bright flouro lights ouside bedroom window which stay on all night and no block out curtains, just venetian blinds, so like broad daylight in the bedroom which made it very hard to sleep.
beach is very nice, terrible blind corner to cross road. next time i would prefer stay on the beach.

“Absolutely loved it...”

My boyfriend and I bought two Groupons for a six night stay in a one bedroom condo. Check in was a breeze. The condo is absolutely immaculate. They have a full kitchen, nice dining area, spacious bedroom, several closets, and a decent sized bathroom with a full-tub. The beds were comfortable and it was extremely clean. They also have a washer/dryer in the condo and provide you with beach chairs. Housekeeping came every morning and asked us what we needed for the day. The pool is saltwater and the hot tub was fabulous. The sun deck is large. The beach is right across the street; the only thing that stinks is that you need to play Frogger to get across the street since the hotel is on a bend in the road. Watch if you have kids. The location is convenient. Publix is right down the road and it was a very easy drive from Tampa International. We also spent a day in Sarasota. If you're looking for a little R&R in a very clean condo with great beach access, definitely stay here. :)

“A little too expensive....for the setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

We had a 2 BR condo for a 2 night stay. Overall the experience was pleasant and there are plus & minus to this place.

Plus: Walk across the street to get to the beach, 5 minutes drive to a well stocked supermarket, modern decor & cozy, comfortable & spotless rooms, excellent staff service and amenities (portable beach chairs, towels, portable sun umbrellas), quiet neighborhood & make a good base to visit Longboat Key & Sarasota

Minus: Unfortunately, lack of land. There is no garden or club resort setting as might suggested by the name. Basically you have the 2 story bldg right smack to a tiny parking lot. If you are on the ground floor, you might think you've arrived to a fancy motel. Despite the nice interior, the walls are thin and you can hear people from either side. The thing that bugs me though, was the crossing to the beach with a blind curve & fast cars coming... so be careful with the little ones.
