“This is what the Hyatt is all about”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

First, the only negative and I almost gave it 4 stars because of it. INTERNET CONNECTION STINKS! If I can get great WiFi at 36,000 feet I should be able to get it here. Hyatt folks - consider servers on every other floor if one main one doesn;t cut it.

Ok, now the rest. The property is amazing, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the food good, the staff OUTSTANDING. Pool area is terrifc and even as an adult I loved the slide :) To that point however, there is a separate adult pool which makes for a relaxing stay for those of us who left the kids at home.

Took the boat to the island (captain and crew were so nice), saw the dolphins and gathered shells. For a Chicago gal, this is heaven. While I did not do the kayaking, others in my party did and were overwhelmed with the beauty of the trip.

Meeting rooms are spacious and well maintained. Overall a fantastic stay!

Room Tip: As for a high floor if you are on the AC side.

“No Mini Bar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I know out of the gate my review is jaded... But I travel a LOT. I simply get annoyed by luxury resorts who do not have a mini bar... It's in excusible. I understand if you are a Four Points or Hilton Garden Inn, but not when you are a full service hotel. Then to boot not to offer any room service options late night. Maybe I am not your average traveler, but this kinds of petty stuff just irks me. Also, to be honest the rooms are just OK. The lobby are, golf course, and grounds are very nice. In the end this is a four star hotel, but I can't get past the mini bar thing... Annoying.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us here on Trip Advisor. We appreciate your feedback on the minibar situation and will address the possibility of offering the option in the future. On a positive note, you had mentioned that our rooms we "ok", and we are pleased to let you know that this summer we are going to be renovating all of our guestrooms with a new clean, modern look. We do hope that you will come back to see the new rooms once they are complete (October 2012).

“Great resort no matter what you’re looking for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I stayed at the Hyatt for a recent work conference, and my wife came along to get to share in the experience. Overall, we were very impressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and seemed genuinely interesting in making our stay memorable. The room was spacious and comfortable – we had a corner room on the 11th floor which actually had 3 different balconies – although the one off of the bathroom wasn’t intended for use. It seems like the odd numbered floors have balconies with chairs, and the even numbered floors just have standing balconies, so request a room on an odd numbered floor for a little more outdoor space. The grounds are beautiful with all kinds of plants (which are labeled) and it is clear an emphasis has been placed on trying to preserve the natural feel of the setting near Esterro Bay. The pools are sprawling and caters well to kids as well as adults looking for some quiet relaxation. We embraced our inner child with a few turns down the waterslide (fast and fun) and then camped out under an umbrella near the adults only pool and the large hot tub. We had dinner at Tanglewood and enjoyed good food and attentive service. My wife had a uber-relaxing massage at the Stillwater Spa and afterwards sent me an email that simply said “Jello” – a testament to the calm that the spa creates. One nice feature was that the spa has locker rooms and shower facilities that you can use if you (like us) have a later flight and want to get to enjoy the pool even after check out. We checked our bags at the bell desk and left a change of clothes in the spa lockers, then spent the whole day at the pool, and at the end of the day showered and got ready in the spa area before heading back to the airport for our flight home. One note: the hotel is a little remote and there aren’t cabs sitting out front like most hotels – so if you need a cab to the airport, have the bell desk call a cab for you at least 30 minutes before you need to leave. We didn’t plan for the extra time and had to hustle to make our flights. In summary, the Hyatt is a very nice resort with great amenities and a welcoming staff. Enjoy!

Room Tip: The odd numbered floors have larger balconies.

“The pictures don't do it justice...”

So many places take pictures to show themselves in the Best Light. This place is everything the pictures show and so much more. This is my Happy Place. The hammock between 2 palm tree is one the left as you head out to the pool. There is only one so get there early to stake your claim for the day. Great food and drink on site and off too.

Thank you so much for sharing your recent stay with us! We do take great pride with the look of our property, and we have to agree that a picture is worth a thousand words, but it is so much better in person! We hope that you will visit your "Happy Place" again soon and we will make sure that the hammock is waiting!

“Dissapointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Upon check in we were told that the king room we'd requested wasn't available but they'd provide us an upgrade with a view of pools and Bay. Sweet! Wrong, they moved us to a room that literally smelled like vomit. When the bellman arrived we inquired about the smell and he appropriately suggested we call the front desk. They responded and brought up keys for a new room. It smelled a lot better but we still had two double beds and while we could see the Bay, we could also see the parking lot. This just wasn't the experience we thought we'd have with Hyatt. On the plus side you get a free glass of champagne upon check in and the staff was very friendly. They tried!
