“Didn't feel like Hilton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I stay at different hotels every week and always try to look at the positive. This hotel was advertised as an all suite hotel and I wanted to spend some time with friends in Boca Raton so I booked a couple rooms.

At check-in there was only one person working at the front desk and he was busy for about 15 minutes with another guest. It was prime check-in time and I think a second person working would have been advisable. It might just be me but I like a well dressed, professional looking person greeting me as a new guest. Perhaps it is the new normal in South Florida but this was the first Hilton I have been to where the look was a bit too casual and unprofessional. It would have worked better at a Motel 6.

The rooms are technically suites (2 rooms + bathroom) but not really any larger than a standard Hilton room. The room was clean but unexciting. Everything worked. The bed was very comfortable, which is a given for Hilton's everywhere. The pool area was pretty blah. If you like to walk, there is really nothing exciting to see in the area and you have to watch out for traffic.

There was a hospitality happy hour which was well attended. Unfortunately the only wine choice was Corbett Canyon, which is un-drinkable in my opinion. I know it was free...but please!

By that point I was getting pretty disappointed, because I always expect so much more from Hilton. But then came breakfast! The food choices were fantastic. There was an omelet chef that was funny, creative and cooked pretty well too. The breakfast restored some of my faith but not enough to give this hotel anything better than a mediocre rating. Hopefully a great manager will come in and turn this place around. It wouldn't take much.

Thank you for your staying with us and for your constructive comments.

We do have a great breakfast experience and I'm pleased you enjoyed it, along with the complimentary cocktail reception. I have shared your comments about wine selections with our Food and Beveage Dir..

Please accept my apology for the delay at check in. I can appreciate the inconvenience this caused you. Two persons were scheduled that afternoon and one was attending to another guest away from the desk at the time you checked in. Our Guest Reception team strives to provide friendly, attentive service for our guests.

While we are in a suburban location, many guests appreciate the peaceful setting of the hotel within our six acre lakeside retail complex. And we also offer shuttle service to nearby shopping and the beach for your convenience.

We do hope you will return when visting Bcoa Raton. Please feel free to contact me directly for any assistance. 561.852.4004 or john.c.bailey@hilton.com.

Sincerely,
John Bailey

“Breakfast was only redeeming quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I suppose it is about expectations, but I was underwhelmed with the accommodations at this location. I was staying here with my 4 year old to be in close proximity to family in the area. The room felt very small, similar to my stay at the Embassy two years earlier. The suites are what I would call "railroad style" and feel very ant farm like. The room was fairly clean overall, but the pull out sofa was absolutely gross and there were no bed linens for it (which I discovered right before we went to bed). I was pretty annoyed that I had to pay extra for internet access and there was no onsite restaurant other than breakfast (which was superb) and the bar which was only opened for happy hour. I had to take my 4 year old over to City Market Restaurant which was way too upscale but the only option I could find. I wasn't planning on spending $70 on dinner for me and my son.
The weather was kind of yucky so we didn't get to use to the pool thought it did seem nice. I guess for $200 a day I just expected better. If it wasn’t for the truly amazing breakfast buffet that was complimentary there would be minimal value here.

Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback.

I'm pleased you enjoyed our complimentary breakfast and evening cocktail reception. They are very popular with our guests and do offer great value.

Please accept my apology for the condition of the sofa bed. I have shared your feedabck with our Dir. of Houskeeping so she can follow up with her team regarding your concerns.

We do have several options for dining around the hotel, in addition to City Fish Market. In our adjacent retail center, we have a Chinese and a French restaurant. There are also several affordable dinning choices near the hotel, some that even deliver to the hotel for your convenience. Our staff is happy to make recommendations.

I do hope you will return when visiting Boca Raton. Please contact me directly for any assistance at 561.852.4004 or john.c.bailey@hilton.com.

Sincerely,
John Bailey

“Reasonably priced suite hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

My two preschool-aged twins and I were in Boca visiting family. I chose the Hilton Suites because there are limited choices for reasonably priced suites in the area during high season (and a suite is essential for me when traveling with my children because they go to bed early). It appears to be an updated Embassy Suites (same layout at least). I found the front desk staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was adequate - a bit dark in the living area and the bathroom was on the small side. But it was clean and provided the space that we needed. And I liked having the refrigerator and microwave. I know that there is free breakfast and a happy hour, but we did not take advantage of either. We did make use of the pool, which was nice. I appreciated that the pool was heated to a very pleasant temperature and that there were plenty of towels and chairs available. While it certainly is not the Ritz, I appreciated the price and convenience of the hotel.

“nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We were there just for one night for business. The hotel is not bad, but the rate is too high if compared to the quality of the room and the service. We paid 220 use per night breakfast included.
The front desk staff is very friendly, as the most of the other staff members, but they need more persons.

“Good service and value in Boca Raton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This is an all suite hotel. The extra space came in handy when I wanted to read in the sitting room and my wife wanted to watch TV in bed. The bathroom is somewhat cramped, however.
The breakfast buffet is excellent. Junior will make you and omlette to order or a variety of pancakes. Service is cheerful and attentive. In early December, 2011, we paid $86. per night with breakfast and happy hour drinks included. The extras have to be work about $40. for both of us. That makes the room an outstanding value in my opinion.

The location is near both the Florida Turnpike and I 95 so it is easy to get anywhere you want to go in South Florida without difficulty. This hotel represents excellent value...nothing too exciting...but excellent value, nonetheless.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side are quieter.
