“I'd pay good money to NOT stay here.”

At the time of this review I am staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Boca Raton. This room is disgusting and I really can't see how it could have received favorable reviews. There were hairs on the bed and long pubic hairs on the bathroom floor that I spotted as soon as I walked in. The carpet, walls, doors, sink and top of the toilet tank are filthy. The rooms smells of mold. I can hear doors open and shut at it's almost 3:30am. I would prefer sleeping in our rental car and I am considering it. This is a room where I am sleeping in the same clothes I just wore on my flight and I am afraid to take them off. Miserable that I went with the "deal" instead of paying more for a clean hotel room.

“Great hotel- great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

My husband and I stayed here in December 2010 and also in May 2008. We had a wonderful experience both times! Very convenient location, lots of nearby restaurants and very very quiet! The hotel staff was very very friendly and we loved the lobby cafe! It is really a wonderful amenity as we arrived late in the evening and although restaurants are closeby, we just wanted to stay in. This hotel is really close to beach areas - only about a 7 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again! :)

“Excellent Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

From the time you arrive in the hotel you will receive five star service. The hotel lobby, rooms and resturant was clean and the food was great. Marriott made our stay very relaxing which made us extend our stay.

“Clean, well run hotel, but VERY NOISY!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

We just returned from a 2 night stay at Courtyard Marriott Boca Raton. From what I had read online, there are not a lot of decent hotels in the Fort Lauderdale area. By decent, I mean clean, comfortable, with good staff, and good location. After much research, we found this one, and for the most part were satisfied with the stay.

The hotel is located right off Glades Road in Boca, and about 1 minute from the I-95 interchange. Very convenient. There are about 4-5 restaurants in the office park complex the hotel is located in. Ample free parking for the hotel.

Upon check-in, we were very impressed with the newly renovated lobby that was tactfully decorated with nice colors and modern furniture. There was a food bar (which was open weird hours so we didn't get to try it), ample lobby seating, a HUGE touchscreen LCD TV that provided directions, weather, traffic, and other useful info for the area. In addition, the lobby was very very clean and filled with areas for your laptop as there was free WiFi throughout.

Our room was pretty basic and nothing special. It was clear that the rooms too were newly renovated with fresh paint, furniture, carpet, fixtures, and bedding. The size of the room was a bit smaller than your typical Courtyard--seems this hotel might have been another brand at some point in time. There was a single vanity area with sink outside the bathroom and some sort of a counter area behind it. It would have been nice if there was a mini fridge in the cabinet there as there was nothing in it. Overall everything was very clean and attentively dusted. A/C worked very well, TV was great, and the bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was decent.

Our only complaint about this hotel was the noise. We were given a room that was near the loading area for 2 of the 4 restaurants next to the hotel. Every morning at 7:45 AM the delivery trucks arrived with blaring back up alarms, brake sounds, loud talking, and banging. So at 7:45 AM we woke up every morning (after going to bed at 1AM from a long day of visiting family). A hotel that overlooks a restaurant loading dock is not a great idea. So if you plan on staying here, keep the noise in mind and/or request a room that does not overlook this area.

“Hotel in transition, thankfully almost finished”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2010

This hotel is currently remodeling the main lobby and other areas. Once that is finished it will be fine, but now is a bit of a let down. There is no restaurant and the 'front desk' is just a table set up in a room. I understand they are having to make due while the remodeling is going on, but there just weren't any amenities.

The pool and hot tub were closed, although not sure why as they weren't being remodeled. Getting in and out of the hotel without a main lobby was a hassle. You have to go around to one of the back entrances or side entrances and have a key card. That is good for security, but friends who were meeting me were stuck outside.

The rooms have been updated with modern furniture and fresh paint. Was nice, although the rust and yellow/beige colors were not my personal favorites.

Other misfires - my tolitries were not/or randomly replaced. There was never any lotion. One day I didn't get another soap bar and the day after I got three (?). The toilet also ran all the time - a call to the front desk on the first day didn't ever get it fixed over 4 days.

This hotel is in the middle of several higher end restaurants. That is great for dinner options within walking distance, but parking was sometimes a challenge.

I would stay elsewhere until the remodel is fully finished for sure.
