We really enjoyed our stay at the Homestead Boca Raton. The room was immaculately clean, and the air conditioning kept us nice and cool. The staff were extremely attentive to our needs, and offered advice on finding places in the area. I would definately recommend this hotel as a base for doing day trips in southern Florida. It is beside Interstate 95, and close access to the Florida Turnpike. You can get to anywhere from this hotel. We even took a trip to Key West from here. Beautiful palm trees on the property, nice landscaping, beautiful pond out back, peaceful and serene surroundings. Did not hear any outside noise from our room, as someone else was commenting on hearing trains...We did not. We would definately stay here again, and again. Tip of the hat to all the staff at the Homestead, our new "home" in Florida!

Coming from the London's grim weather and grumpy ppl, me and my friend came to Miami on a holiday in June and we absolutely loved it - not only was it cheap but some of the staff were friendly apart form Marty who made a cheeky remark if we were the girls who kept on asking for the iron! dont no wat that was alll about but if you take him away from it... the homestead is a real nice place - clean, big and lovely cute lake over looking the rooms.

We really liked it and if we do come to Miami ever again then we would stay here for sure! its also really cheap!

Most of the employees are friendly and the rates are good but...

You can't get towels, they are removed from the room to be laundered but are not replaced.

Sometimes it was two weeks before the rooms were cleaned.

When services were requested they didn't get handled (ie: Need towels, Need room cleaned, Repair of broken item room).

Mail is eventually delivered but not promptly.

I stayed here on business from 8/27-9/2/04 without checking Tripadvisor first. This was 2 weeks after Hurricane Charley and just before Frances. I agree with the review about the noise and vibration from the railroad - and I was on the back side of the property.

This appears to be a converted 2 story walk-up motel. The room was as described on-line - if a little threadbare. Pluses - strong, hot shower; ample space and closet storage; full fridge, microwave, sink and stovetop; wireless internet access Minuses - ONE towel and ONE washcloth; workspace is an island bar doubling as dining table with tall bar stools for seats (ended up using small coffee table for workspace). Tech support for wireless is a long distance number.

The biggest problems: NO refresh or maid service the entire week. I ended up taking my ONE towel and washcloth to the manager after 5 days and received ONE towel and wash cloth in return. "Sorry", he says.

Second, apparently the locals like to have small parties at the pond of the back of the property. Never loud, but always looking seedy.

Given the choices in the area, I wouldn't stay there again. If you can live with self-serve towel service and no cleaning, then the price is right. Given the time of my visit, you might cut them some slack.
