We selected this hotel looking for an inexpensive suite hotel convenient to Delray Beach. Unfortunately, we did not check TripAdvisor. As noted in other reviews, the hotel is located next to heavily used RR tracks, like less than 100 feet. They've done a good job of soundproofing the rooms, but there's only so much you can do with the trains barreling through that close to you. There is no fence between the hotel and the tracks, so parents will want to keep a close eye on the kids. On the other side of the tracks is I-95, so you get traffic noise as well.
The hotel is a bit spartan. Our unit had 2 full baths, kitchen sink, stove top, small microwave and fullsize fridge. The bedroom contained 2 queens. The living room had a sleep sofa. Silverware, cups, plates, etc. were very sparse, but the front desk was good about providing more upon request. There were no cooking pots or pans. Presumably you could get these also. There is no pool, garden courtyard, or any other diversions.
Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Both of the rooms had distinctive odors, different from each other. The climate control system did not work in the living room and the carpet seemed damp adjacent to it. It looked like the rooms had just been redone with new furniture, paint and carpets. We even had to wait while they finished installing new drapes. Perhaps the new materials contributed to the smells, but I'm a bit skeptical.
The other reviews indicate that there may be a significant disparity in the rooms (nobody would ever give my room 5 stars). Our room was on the RR track side. Try to get a room on the lake side if you decide to stay here. But my best advice is to check the Marriott or the Hilton nearby. They're a little more expensive, but you'll have a better experience.
