“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The Hotel is beautiful and the pools are VERY WARM and we LOVE that in January and February. The only negatives were the expensive buffet breakfast, for my little girls who are 9 and 10 years old it was about $15.00 for each and then $29.95 for me so we spent $70.00 on breakfast with tip and tax~and really how much can 3 girls eat. NOT much, but we were hungry and tired and had there been another option, would have went for it! Oh well. I am a Hilton GOLD member and they usually comp breakfast, but not here :o( Other than that, delightful stay.

Room Tip: We had a beautiful Ocean view room.

“Incredible weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I spent 2 nights at the Boca Raton Beach Club and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were great. I had a room with a view of the pool and beach with floor-to-ceiling windows. If you visit the spa, I highly recommend the "Ritual Bath". This was amazing and incredibly relaxing. I recommend having it prior to a massage.

There is a shuttle bus and a boat that run between both of the Boca Raton properties. The boat is much quicker if you catch it at the right time. The shuttle bus runs constantly and is very convenient.

“Luxurious hotel with an excellent beach and pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We stayed for two nights and two days after returning from a seven day cruise. We really enjoyed the Beach Club, and we would have liked to stay longer. The restaurant food was great, although pricey - especially the breakfast buffet options.

There are two pools - one for adults only - and the pool area is well maintained, as you would expect in a first class resort.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable, and very well appointed.

Even though we had a rental car, we took advantage of the free shuttle to the Tower and the original Boca Raton Resort.

Room Tip: The rooms on the north side face the lagoon - a nice view and less costly than the ocean view rooms...

“Great hotel grounds, disappointing atmosphere and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Based on the internetpage and the tripadvisor reviews I expected a lot of this hotel. Partly my expectations were met, partly not. This is the first time in our live that we gave feedback to the manager at check-out.

The hotel grounds are clean and extremely well maintained; especially the cloister part is stunning. Bungalow room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Bed and pillows are good.
The check in was quick and correct, but without giving you the feeling that you are welcome. The room was ready although we arrived a few hours before the given check in time. The concierge at the bungalows was friendly and helped us with our luggage without asking.

So far so good, but from that point it went downwards real quickly. We took the on-site transportation to the beach resort part. During the trip (takes some minutes) the drive kept complaining about the Canadians in the resort (a Canadian company had some kind of seminar there) and that he had to work overtime for them.

Arrived in the beach-resort part we took a small lunch (was very tastefull), where I believe that the check was not correct. They are still invenstigating that, but were so friendly to remove it completely for the bill at check out untill they found out if it was correct. I expect to hear from them soon (check out 6 days ago, untill now no feedback yet).

After waling on the beach, we took the boat transportation back to the main resort (nice extra to have the boat ride included). It's a bit of a pitty that the surrounding buildings are very close to the hotel and pretty ugly.

Back at our room we said hi to a cleaner, which looked at us, turned his back towards us and walked away..... strange. Next morning we had exactly the same with another cleaner.

In the evening we went to the 501 East restaurant. Very friendly server and the food was great. Price level was acceptable for this kind of resort.

The second day we wanted to go for a small breakast. The driver of the resort shuttle was not pleased with the speed of one of the guests who was driving in front of us with his own car. He drove the complete way 10 cm behind his bumper.
Arrived in the Serendepity restaurant. the cake was completely dry and uneatable, seems to be there from the previous day. The coffee was also not that good. We complained about the cake and noticed lot's of other people were also complaining. The staff was really rude. They rolled their eyes because one of the other customers asked for spoon for her capucino. We ended up paying for the coffee and tea and went to the starbucks for decent coffee and fresh cake.

We planned to stay for the day and at least the lunch, but we decided to checked out early. Really disappointed. The check out was done by the general manager and we told him this story. His reacion was that he would inform the managers of the staff and give us his business card and told us that we should contact him before our next visit and he would make sure it was much better than. We already informed him that we would never come back.

The atmosphere in the resort is just not OK. Most of the staff is not friendly and the hotel tries to be luxureous in completely the wrong way. They overcomplicate things. Real good hotels (see our review of the Datai in Malaysia or the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida) don't bother customers with being fancy but arrange everything perfectly on the background. Take in mind that we are not people that like to complain and as you can see in our other reviews, we stay more often in upscale hotels and are normaly satisfied. We never ever had this experience before.

One other remark:
If you plan to go there (which I would not recommend), make sure you book via Expedia or one of the other travel sites. We booked directly via the hotel site (thinking that Hilton had a lowest price guarantee), but one day later Expedia had a discount on this hotel for a 10% lower rate. Cancelling is difficult from outside the US and on our mail we got a very long and detailed answer, but the conclusion was that they offer no compensation and cancelling per mail is not possible.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I'm terribly sorry that your experience at the Boca Raton Resort was not an outstanding one. On behalf of the entire management team, I extend my most sincere apology.

The experience you describe above is not in keeping with our desired level of service or the reputation we have earned over the years. We pride ourselves in creating positive memories for all our guests and regrettably this was not the case for you, and for that I am truly sorry.

Thank you again for your candid review of the property. I can only hope that you will consider returning to the Boca Raton Resort & Club in the future, as we would love the opportunity to regain your confidence.

Sincerely,
Sean M. Clancy

“Excellent location, nice rooms, questionable management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but don't know if I would recommend it. It's a physically wonderful hotel but to be honest we questioned who was running the place...

This property is located directly on the beach in Boca Raton. The Beach Club has a modern, clean feel, excellent food, and a family friendly atmosphere. We stayed here for two nights with our 6 month old and had a good time overall. In either property, you have access to the main resort property via a shuttle or boat.

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend, and while we certainly did not expect an upgrade, one would have been appreciated as there were rooms open. However, that seems to be the Hilton party line, which is why I switched back to Marriott after never getting upgraded, despite Diamond member status. We upgraded to an ocean view room, which was very close to the beach, very clean, and nicely appointed. Oddly, it lacked little things you'd expect a hotel at this price/caliber to have (e.g. a full size ironing board, a door that effectively offers privacy to the person in the bathroom, and a fully functioning iron). Little thing, that overall did not detract from the wonderful view and cleanliness.

The staff was friendly, accommodating, quick to service, but unprofessional; not in a rude or unaccommodating manner, simply, 'when the teacher is away the kids will play' way. I want to be clear that they were all good people and it didn't really ruin the visit for us, it was just very odd how they behaved. For example, throughout the entire visit it was as if the staff made no effort to contain their joking around or anything. It didn't matter if you were in a restaurant or walking in the hotel, you could see staff messing around, talking on the phone, even holding hands (yes, two of them were holding hands discussing getting off early right in the main entry way to the hotel)... There was nothing inappropriate (no foul language, no pda) it was just unprofessional in the pure sense of the word. I'll admit that it added a bit of 'levity' to the environment, but it was a bit odd.

We did have two encounters with the that were plain inappropriate though. First, one of the shuttle drivers, after offering me help with my stroller, which I politely declined, told me "it's not my fault if something goes wrong." Who says that? The second encounter involved a 14 min one-way conversation with one of the staff after returning from dinner. He just talked for 14 mins... odd experience.

Overall, we had a great get-away, and felt relaxed. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, and give the four star rating, but it really deserves 3.5 in my book. We will most likely not go back to this hotel. It represents another sub-par Hilton experience, and for the money, you can get a room at The Breakers, where undoubtedly, you'd have a better service experience.

Room Tip: You either look at the parking lot or ocean. Make sure you ask.
