“no longer a doubletree”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Let me start with the positive... This hotel is a $ value for Boca and the mattresses / beds are really comfortable. The rooms are a really nice size, with a separate living room that has a kitchionette. Great set up for putting one person in bedroom and one person in living room with the bathroom between the two rooms. The front desk staf is very nice. Unfortuantely...The first floor rooms smell like mold and have wet floors whenever it rains. Some of the third floor rooms smell heavily of smoke. I used ot ut friends up here often, but I've stopped, which is a shame since it is such an economical choice.

“Rooms, housekeeping, and lobby staff not good”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

This was our "home" away from "home" for six nights, 12/27/11 - 01/02/12. When my husband and I entered the the lobby we were not greeted with a smile or welcome but instead, "Do you a reservation"? After that, the first room we were given the lights were not working, light bulbs had to be replaced. Neither TV worked; one had no sound and the other one no sound or picture. There was only one hand towel and bath towel and no bath mat. These incidents involved three different phone calls to the lobby. We then asked to be assigned to another King bedroom. We were told there were no other King's left but doubles were available. Later, we received a phone call that we would be moved to another King bedroom. After being assigned to the new King bedroom, we found that the water in the face bowl stalled. We were told that someone would come the next morning to upstop the face bowl. We finally went to bed and realized that the alarm clock did not work, so, we used our cell phones. The only positive was that the furniture did not look as old as the furniture in the first room. When we asked housekeeping for four washcloths, (two for each of us) we were told we could have three washcloths. I later asked the lobby staff if guests were limited to the number of towels and the answer was no. On another note, my husband went for breakfast but came back saying the boiled eggs were in water and he didn't know for how long and the place did not look inviting so we ate out each day.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is far below the standards of other Doubletree Hotels I have stayed in.

“Below average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Rooms old, rugs horrible. Not given enough towels. The free breakfast horrible.
Hard boiled eggs sitting in water for hours, bagels no choice but 2 kinds (everything and who knows) bread for toasting. No choice of coffee (decaf/regular) no water for tea.
No choice for juice, cereal not even labeled. That was it.
The desk people never raise eyes as you go by to say hi.
The only positive was thE free wifi. Skip this place as no improvement for over a year according to other reviews.

“Where to start?”

Room was infested with mosquitos. Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, and bathroom was only stocked with hand towels. Then there was the enjoyment of being woken up at 4:30am by a drunk guest pounding on our door.

Final straw was when we checked out & I complained to the two front desk employees about the issues. They didn't even bother to apologize, simply stared at me with completely blank expressions on their faces.

“Hotel and rooms not up to standard”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2011

My ladyfriend and I spend several nights at the Doubletree Guests Suites
in Baca Raton, Florida. The rooms were very old and had a musty odor.
We asked for and given another room to look at....the 2nd room was even
worse....old and with a musty smell. We had two TV'S that had to be 15 years old plus in order to turn the power on or adjust the sound, only the control on the set worked. There was a charge of $4.95 for a below average breakfast. The front desk was helpful and the rooms relatively clean. The swimming pool was the best part of the hotel. Very nice area and heated to a perfect temperature (many hotels advertise heated pools but are not heated to a comfortable level). I understand this hotel is under new management and is beginning to renovate the rooms. This could
make a difference in the future. If and until there is significant renovation
done, I would not recommend this hotel at any price.
