We've traveled a lot. We don't expect luxury. This motel was recommended by the bride whose destination wedding we attended. For $99 per night, we found:
no towel bars
no clothes hangers
no hair dryer
no TV remote
blood splatter on wall
grimy dirt and hair, layers of dust
commode backed up
dreary inside and out
no shampoo/lotion (a tissue box and one bar of soap)
sagging second floor balcony, broken concrete chips everywhere
entrance with large puddle of at least 12 inches of water that never disappeared in our 3 days
a grungy envelop with handwritten note, asking for tips
When we arrived, my husband immediately discovered the TV had no remote, and we had no clothes hangers or hair dryer. My husband walked to the office (no phones or even a phone number to call the office). The clerk came to our room to look for the remote and strongly suggested we had stolen the remote, "because it was here when you came." She finally let us use "hers."
She signed out a hair dryer for us to use, but she had no hangers. We went to a grocery store to buy hangers for the clothes we wore to the wedding.
When we told the clerk the commode was backed up, she handed us a plunger.
The office opens at 8:00 a.m., so if you have an emergency any other time, you're on your own.
