My Wife and I stayed there in January of 2012 and we had a wonderful time. Everything worked fine including the wifi. Take a walk to no name key and you are almost sure to run into the Key deer, take a shorter walk to No name bar and you can be sure to run into a cold beer and good food. We are sure to go back!My wife would also like you to know that the cottage's were"sweet" we stayed in number 4.

“Perfect for our short stay”

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in #2. It was very clean, the AC worked fine. A microwave, coffee maker, fridge, dishes and silverware were provided. The bed was very squeaky and not very comfortable. You are a short walk to the NO Name Pub. Groceries are in Big Pine about a 5 minute drive. The grounds were very well kept and across the street is the marina and pool.
The managers are very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend a stay, but have issues with the bed!

“Terrible experience”

I stayed at the Old Wooden Bridge in November with a family member and, had I not been meeting friends and had another place to stay, I would never have spent the night in the room. I rented the larger of the "cabins". Upon arrival, before even opening the door, I could smell the "air freshener". It was overpowering. The first thing we did was open all of the windows and the door to try to get rid of the smell. I then took off my shoes, only to find that the floor was sopping wet. As I took a towel and tried to dry the floor enough that our footprints did not show, my roommate opened the freezer to find that it was covered in fish "juice" and guts and reeked. When she took out a pot to get some water in to wash the freezer, the pot was filthy and oily. I do not believe that there was one clean item in the entire kitchen. We found that we had to wash anything that we wanted to use and were hesitant to use it anyway. After getting the room in some sort of order, we went to the store to buy air "neutralizers" to try to get rid of the horrible smell of the air freshener that they had used. I was glad that I had brought a sheet along with me to put over the futon in the living room that doubled as a couch as the cover was severely stained. Another oddity, we did not have maid service during our stay which I knew was not to be expected. However, one morning, when my roommate opened the cabinet containing the glasses, there was a bag of unopened Halloween candy in the cabinet. As we had been in and out of that cabinet many times, this unnerved us. We did confirm with our friends that they did not put it there and we both knew that we did not bring it as it was a candy that neither of us would have eaten. I understand from talking to some of the locals that it has changed hands and there are now numerous owners who, apparently, cannot agree on anything. I am by no means squeamish and have stayed in some pretty rough places, but, I would never willingly pay to stay at this place again.

“Almost perfect”

Room was clean and comfortable. Its great to sleep in but the A/C struggles during the day, wasnt an issue since you don't go to the keys to stay indoors during the day anyhow. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Excess sea grass in the marina was foul smelling but thats just seasonal. Be warned, hot and cold water are backward but work well. You feel seclued with Key Deer walking all around, awesome starry nights yet can walk to non name pub for a cold one and great wings or drive a few minutes to modern day supermarkets and pharmacies. Bring bug spray though, the sand flies will get you

“Perfect for our big group We loved it!”

We reserved Cabins 8,9,10, and 11 for our big group of girl scouts and adults and it was just perfect. These are the 2 bedroom cottages with either a futon in the living area or a pull out couch. The cabins were homey and fit our needs completely. The bathrooms spotless with complimentary shampoo and conditioner. The girls felt like they had their own first apartment :) We stayed 4 nights and couldn't have had a better time. Yes the beds were what you'd expect at a family cottage, not bed and breakfast quality, but we sure all slept soundly with no complaints. The kitchens were equipped , including pots pans, dishes, utensils, new dishwashing liquid and sponges, paper towels, tea towels, toaster microwave, stove and full size refrigerator. The location of the cottages was perfect for us. Not too far to make a trip to Key West and not too far to Marathon for the Dolphin Research Center and Sea Turtle Rescue Hospital, both of which we highly recommend. We did the eco-kayak tour from the cottages with Cpt. Bill and he was a great guide. After our tour we had free access to the kayaks for the rest of our stay. Strike Zone Charters is located right on Big Pine Key also and we used them for a fantastic snorkeling trip to Looe Key. Then there was the pool: Boy did we enjoy that! We were the only group who ever seemed to be in the pool. What a nice option at the end of the day for us. While not huge the pool was a delight, with it's abundance of palm tree shade, chaise lounges and the outside shower. And it was very clean. The staff at Old Wooden Bridge is very freindly and helpful. This is housekeeping on your own, but if you need to exchange towels or bed linens they will gladly do so at the office. The little shopping center with a big Winn Dixie is very close by and had a remarkably good Chinese Restaurant where we got carry out for our large group one night. You won't have to search for the Key Deer, they will come right up to your cottage. Would definitely stay at Old Wooden Bridge again if on a family trip.
