We reserved Cabins 8,9,10, and 11 for our big group of girl scouts and adults and it was just perfect. These are the 2 bedroom cottages with either a futon in the living area or a pull out couch. The cabins were homey and fit our needs completely. The bathrooms spotless with complimentary shampoo and conditioner. The girls felt like they had their own first apartment :) We stayed 4 nights and couldn't have had a better time. Yes the beds were what you'd expect at a family cottage, not bed and breakfast quality, but we sure all slept soundly with no complaints. The kitchens were equipped , including pots pans, dishes, utensils, new dishwashing liquid and sponges, paper towels, tea towels, toaster microwave, stove and full size refrigerator. The location of the cottages was perfect for us. Not too far to make a trip to Key West and not too far to Marathon for the Dolphin Research Center and Sea Turtle Rescue Hospital, both of which we highly recommend. We did the eco-kayak tour from the cottages with Cpt. Bill and he was a great guide. After our tour we had free access to the kayaks for the rest of our stay. Strike Zone Charters is located right on Big Pine Key also and we used them for a fantastic snorkeling trip to Looe Key. Then there was the pool: Boy did we enjoy that! We were the only group who ever seemed to be in the pool. What a nice option at the end of the day for us. While not huge the pool was a delight, with it's abundance of palm tree shade, chaise lounges and the outside shower. And it was very clean. The staff at Old Wooden Bridge is very freindly and helpful. This is housekeeping on your own, but if you need to exchange towels or bed linens they will gladly do so at the office. The little shopping center with a big Winn Dixie is very close by and had a remarkably good Chinese Restaurant where we got carry out for our large group one night. You won't have to search for the Key Deer, they will come right up to your cottage. Would definitely stay at Old Wooden Bridge again if on a family trip.
