We stayed at Bahia Honda for 2 weeks in the end of Sept 2011. After reading some of the reviews, I was leary of what to expect and the opposite happen. "The bathrooms" were clean. They did not smell like a sewage dump. Never smelled bathrooms at all. They were maintained twice a day. They DO NOT offer laundry machines. You do not want to do laundry on the islands unless it is needed. Closest Laundry mat is 6 miles away and expensive. "THERE IS NO TV SERVICE OFFERED" Bring DVDs. "The Bugs" are bad. Mosquitos and No-Seeums will eat you up. Your camp sites are cut right into the mangroves, expect to get bit! "The Rangers" were very nice. They spoke and waved to you. Never was rude. "Pets are Welcomed". We traveled with our 2 little dogs and they were able to go anywhere but beaches, pavillans, and bathrooms. I think they should offer a Dog Beach area for dogs, but do not. Small dogs will have a problem walking on grounds. The campsites and roads are small gravel and my dogs had a tough time walking. The campsites are packed hard, so most tent stakes would bend and break. Bring landscapers stakes and there will be no problem. The first problem we had was you share your water with your neighbor. So bring extra waterhoses. We had to go buy right away to have water, we needed 3 together to reach camper. One last thing, The highway does run thru the park, the traffic noises were not unbearable. Had a great time, in Sept it is still HOT. It rained once everyday, but quick. It is very windy at campsites so be prepared.
