This hotel probably could use a refurbishing, it's true. On the other hand, it's still quite okay the way it is, unless you're one that prefers a high-tech and glitzy look in hotels. If that's your preference, pass on this hotel. Still, it doesn't have the feel of a run-down hotel even if it isn't quite "up-to-date." Essentially, it's a conservative, "European" style hotel in the midst of the Route-A1A "luxury towers" which has a good number of hotels with more "newness."
The Sea View is very quiet and right on the beach and it has, in my opinion, an overall comfortable "feel" to it even if the "newness" factor would better be addressed by the owners.
If you'd opt for the continental-breakfast, don't expect too much, though there are limited hot dishes available like french-toast, for example, and it should be satisfying. On the other hand, you can order whatever you want from the regular menu, if you'd wish, and pay for that accordingly.
My main objection isn't so much that the hotel rooms are a bit "out-dated." Rather it is that, while well-kept with evening turn-down service, the bathrooms suffer from that scorge of a genuinely good stay at a hotel in a resort atmosphere or anywhere else, for that matter...mildew. This is something that I personally find objectionable, and it will now make me think twice about staying at the Sea View in the future...and I had stayed there many times since I go to southern Florida often. On the other hand, I want to point out that the rooms including the bathroom are very clean. But, the photos speak for themselves and for that reason I think the hotel doesn't qualify for a "very good" rating...and someone ought to pay attention to that....
Room Tip: There are rooms that face the ocean and others that do not, that are priced accordingly.
