“Decent Property, But Not My Definition of a "Resort"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

I'll admit I was nervous when I "won" a night at this motel on Priceline but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very nice property for a Best Western, though I think they are stretching their poetic license a bit by calling it a "resort." This property does not meet my definition of a true resort but it's still a nice little property if you know what to expect beforehand.

The location is good; great outlet shopping is a short drive away and you can walk to the beach. Parking is free in a covered parking garage. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk staff was pleasant.

The room decor was new and updated but it still felt like a budget motel room (thin towels, fake marble showers, puny toiletries, no bathtub, plastic wrapped plastic cups instead of glasses), though it did feel clean. Our room had a large, comfortable layout with gorgeous french doors that opened out onto the street. An in-room microwave, safe and mini-refrigerator were thoughtful, nice amenities. While the room was large, the bathroom layout felt a little cramped.

As a female, I found some of the clientele to be a little bit "sketchy" but I was traveling in the off-season (winter) so it might be more bustling in the summer months. There aren't a lot of hotels / motels in the area, which makes this a good choice.

Note that the property is located right on a busy road and across from a rock and roll bar so if you are a light sleeper, try to get a room away from the road / bar side. All in all, this is a decent place to stay when you are in the area.

Room Tip: Note that the property is located right on a busy road and across from a rock and roll bar so if you...

“Would stay there again!”

We booked here during off season. If you are looking for a inexpensive, clean, simple hotel close to the beach- this is the one. Our room had two double beds and was very clean. The free breakfast was simple but had good coffee and mini muffins. All staff that we came in contact with were very friendly. It was about a 5 minute drive down to the main strip to all the nice restuarants and shops. The outlet shopping is also about a five minute drive away.

“We love this place”

My girlfriend and I have stayed here twice(off season),and we have enjoyed it both times. It is not in Rehobeth however,it is about 3 miles south in Dewey Beach. It is nice because all of the gridlock of Rehobeth on Highway 1 doesn't affect you. This hotel is perpendicular to the ocean, but from the top floors you can look and see both the ocean, and the bay.And the ocean is only about a 100 yard walk from the hotel, and you do not have to cross the road. The lobby and interiors are a bit dated, but, the rooms are re-modeled and very nice. You will have to drive to Rehobeth(off season) to find all of the restaurants and shopping, but, you will have a quiet time when you come back to your room. This review does not apply(in season)when all of the usual nuisances associated with staying at a crowded beach town are unavoidable..This hotel has a continental breakfast that is not appealing,at all. Also,if you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the highway toward the back.

Room Tip: This hotel is right on the highway, ocean side, but it is perpendicular to the road.Though the room ar...

“Surprisingly comfortable room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

To look at it from the outside, you wonder if you made a mistake booking this hotel. But all that disappeared when we got to our room. It was very spacious, with decent decor and very comfortable beds. The cooling/heating unit operated perfectly (with only a steady fan noise that lulls you to sleep) and the bathroom was also roomy. Based on the higher costs of many other places, why stay anywhere else?

“Great location and an adequate hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

It was obvious that the Best Western on Dewey Beach was recently renovated. We booked a room with 3 double beds for Labor day weekend and the room comfortably suited 5 girls. Everything was clean, which was a bit of a surprise considering how much sand I'm sure everyone traipses in with from the beach and bars with sand floors. The location is awesome - just steps from the beach, across the street from fun restaurants and bars, and walking distance to whatever you are interested in at Dewey beach. Front desk and all staff pleasant and tolerant of the fact that people there go out and come home late. If I go back to Dewey, I would stay there again.
