“Bad customer service”

I had made a reservation to stay here on December 31st and January 1st in mid November. When I arrived on December 31st to check in, I was told that I was a no show on the 30th. I was also told that they had rented my room to someone else for the evening, and had charged my credit card. There were mistakes made by both parties. The inn got the dates wrong and I didn't check my email confirmation. I was obviously devasted since the entire holiday weekend was ruined since they had no other rooms. They couldn't be bothered to make a phone call to let me know of the situation but had no qualms about renting my room to someone else and charging me. I was told that making phone calls isn't something that they do. The inn did refund one night but the customer service here is the worst I have ever encountered

“Comfy enough; nice styling...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

It's a nice enough inn...well run, clean, and with lots of style to the room design (a sort of modernist/IKEA flavored vibe). We were in a king room with an HDTV and comfy couch to read on. Inn is in walking distance to boardwalk if you don't mind a walk (probably 1/2 a mile) and even closer to Dogfish, which is great if you are planning to walk home.

A few possible negatives, none of which are deal breakers given the alternatives in the area: (1) walls seemed pretty thin -- we heard the next door room's TV and dog; (2) in-room heater was also fairly loud -- obviously not a concern if you are there during the peak season; (3) continental breakfast was a bit sparse/underwhelming {I'm a coffee snob, though, so your mileage may vary}.

All and all I'd recommend it for most travellers.

“Expectations Surpassed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

I called the most expensive B&B in Rehobothtown to ask for a recommendation on a moderately priced Inn; "Canalside Inn" was the reply. I then asked, "anyplace else"? No was all he said. I now know why! It was my best inn experience ever. Not only is it inexpensive, it is excellent in every way. Class, Style, Taste, & Quality.
Thanks for a wonderful experience to Stephen & Rick!

“Fabulous!-Cozy but hip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

This place is great! My room smelled of bleach and laundry! It's quiet and clean and the rooms are adorable. There was even a black washcloth clearly labeled "makeup" for me! French doors that lead out to a shared deck area.Their breakfast was bagels, muffins & granola yogurts not your run of the mill microwave sausage and egg disks. The lounge area is cozy with lots of games and dvds and nice Tv's. I could not be happier! They have a house cat named Lindsey which i got to meet this morning.
Sure beats the comfort suites or anything else down here!

“Great spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

After researching many possibilities to take my husband for a birthday weekend celebration in Rehoboth Beach, I chose the Canalside Inn. The photos of the rooms were quite attractive, and I was considering places where we could take our dog along. The Inn is off the main drag, but right across the street from the canal. The room we had was huge, and very well equipped. A king size bed, a nice bathroom and a kitchenette with a microwave and small fridge. We were lucky to have fantastic weather in November, so the walk downtown and back was pleasant and relaxing! I would recommend this to others and we plan to go back!
