I just got back after spending two nights at the Atlantic Sands, I had book and paid for 3 nights but I just couldn't stay. First, I paid a little extra for an oceanfront room. The first room I was given was right by the elevator and although oceanfront did have an outside wall that limited the southern view. When I did ask for another room, the front desk gave me another key to try another room, it was better. When I returned to say I would rather this room, he informed me that he hoped all in the party would be happy because he would not allow another change. I also asked him about the impending beach construction that may be going on during the stay. He said he didn't know anything about it. Well, the construction ran for two nights all night and day and seem to not have any end in sight. I realize that management can't help what is going on with the beach refurbishing but they could have offered me a quieter room. They just excepted my early leave and that was that.
About the room: it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after reading some reviews. I thought the beds were a little too soft for my liking and yes, the carpet could have been nicer. I also think the glass on the balcony and inside should have been cleaned. But it did have a nice flat-screen TV, refrigerator, and microwave. The walls a fairly thin, and the neighboring doors are loud.
Housekeeping comes daily and provides good supplies. I noticed that they changed the dirty shower curtain on our second day, but I'm not sure why it would be there to begin with.
This is not a costumer friendly place. I feel that they could care less about me. I would stay somewhere else.
