I was not impressed by the greating that I recieved at the front desk when I checked in. I thought I might have been bothering the people by the way they acted by showing up. The room was ok and seemed to be freshly painted and it did have a refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. None of which i used since i was only staying one night. The TV was fine other than needing two remotes and the channels were limited. Once again for staying only one night it was fine. The security lock on the outside door of the hotel was missing so anyone could access the hotel. Being a man that did not bother me but i could see where a women could be concerned. The hotel was easy to find and was very accessable right off the main highway. Like I said it was a good deal for the money and for only one night it was fine. Would I stay there again? Not sure. Would probably do a little research first.

This hotel used to be our tried and true standby when traveling to Washington, D.C. for Thanksgiving. However, it has deteriorated over the years with little renovation. Even the free continental breakfast was rather skimpy this year. In addition, having used a discount from AARP, we were initially assigned a remote room where the chain lock had been removed from the door and the bolt lock did not work. In addition, the carpets were ripped and smelled of cigarette smoke despite having booked a nonsmoking room. In defense of the desk clerk, he did immediately reassign us to a less remote and better-maintained room when we requested it. However, I would still not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I needed a cheap room when I was in Newark looking for an apartment. This was conveniently pretty close to UD's campus and, other than just looking a bit old and run down, my room was clean and reasonably comfortable.The free breakfast is really good and there's wifi. I would say it definitely met my expectations for the price and there were no unpleasant surprises.

It was dark, and we needed a place to stay. Lucky for us we found the HJ! Front desk could not have been nicer. Room was close to the door. Wonderful breakfast the next morning.
