I go to Delaware Park during weekends to play the horses and sports betting. I've been to a few motels and hotels that are w/in the racetrack area. And I can honestly say that I would prefer to stay again at Days Inn Wilmington. The room was clean , the bed is firm and comfortable, the linens clean smelling and soft and their bath tub has a revolving shower head it felt good when the water touched my back. We used 2 laptops and the wifi connection was really super high speed ! The cleaning lady was nice I forgot to give her tip but i will tip her double next time. The only negative experience that i had was when i met this employee at the front desk when i was checking out ( his accent sounds like Indian/Pakistani/SriLankan.?.) he was a bit impolite and a bit rude in his choice of words (...needs some training I guess). But overall I will stay here again, using the same room. My name is andrew and i stayed @ Rm # 1??.

We had booked a group of rooms at this site, and stayed for 2 nights. This is a tired and worn sort of place, and the price reflected it. This is an open air hotel, with masonry walkways and stairways to get to the roooms. The wallkways and stairways need good pressure washing, or at least a broom cleaning. The rooms appeared clean, but the rest of the facility takes away the confidence that things really ARE clean. That being said, the bathroom was fine, and seemed clean. Goodness knows about the rugs and bedspreads, etc. I'm not picky about that sort of stuff, but even I was a bit put off by the overall presentaiton.

The front lobby is nice and up-to-date but belies the appearance of the rest of the place. If you pull in and get an impression from the lobby, it will be the wrong impression.

One of the lamps was burnt out, I could not get the TV remote to work, and in the shower the water would sometimes go cold (not lukewarm, I'm talking cold for a couple of seconds.) The towels were thin and few.

Breakfast was bagels, cereal, juice, etc. No eggs sausage or the stuff you'd find at a more upscale location. Very basic stuff. Again, you get what you pay for.

There was noise during the night with various "guests" yelling back and forth, and general commotion. We also heard that there was some sort of police action on the premises the night we were there, but we were not aware of it.

In short, if price is what you're after, for a night or two,or just passing through, this is probably OK. Otherwise, there are about 6 other name brand chain hotels litterally next door and across the street.

I would have payed an extra $25/night for a newer and better situation. This Days Inn is margina at best. I only rated it better than poor because of the tradeoff with price. On a more objective scale, "poor" is warranted.

I booked this hotel for 3 nights as it was just 45 mins from Dover for the NASCAR weekend, and I was spending a couple of weeks at Atlantic City, whilst on vacation from the UK.
It was a great location for access to Dover and AC, with a casino nearby at Delaware Park if you needed a flutter!
The room provided a full sized fridge, microwave, HBO TV, free wifi,and laundry service.
The service provided by the team was excellent.

I will certainly use it again for next years race at Dover............

I stayed here October 2nd for the race in Dover last weekend.Place fully booked.Had two rooms/two double beds.After booking through another website I checked Trip Advisor and seen a few bad reviews.
Im not sure what exactly these folks were expecting at a Days Inn,but it aint the Hilton.You also aren't paying Hilton's price.The place is close to the major highways,rooms are clean,and free danish's, and bagels available for breakfast.Coffee was good and hot and plenty of hot water.
There is a great place next door to eat and other than a problem with one of the rom keys,all was good.
Oh one complaint,the chair in the room had a lop sided cushion....BIG DEAL!!
If your looking for a basic room,you arent going to find a better deal than this place.On that particular weekend,other hotels in the area were charging three times the rates that Days Inn was,
