I am male, 32, and I was traveling with my 26 year old brother. I chose this motel 6 as a place to sleep as it is a half-way point between my home in CT and family in VA, and of course, it is also somewhat cheap (about $55).
As the other reviewer wrote, I was kind of surprised by the guards. First I thought they were "wanna be" "mall security" type guards, then I saw they were packing pistols!!!
They dutifully requested ID and recorded our names, before we were allowed to check in. It was a bother, but also reassuring that my car would be safe in the lot overnight. (They are on duty till 6am & I parked right in front of their station)
The room did smell of Cigarette smoke and I hesitated to walk barefoot on the carpet., but the beds were clean and with earplugs and eye shades I slept quite well.
My brother and I have both lived overseas on the mission field so we are used to third world conditions, and thats probably why we were not so bothered, however, I would not readily bring a wife or kids to this location.
Once in VA we paid only $20 more for a luxurious room at the Marriot.
So, if you are a college age guy or a bachelor who normally lives in squalor anyway, this is the place for you. Everyone else, drive on to the next city!
