My fiancee and I decided to go up to Dover Downs to gamble for the weekend. I purchased the room through Priceline (name your won price) and got it for a pretty good rate. After purchasing I called the hotel to ensure we had a king bed since we were traveling as a couple. When I called, the lady was very pleasant and informed me that we did have a king bed, but if we needed to change it that would couldnt because they could not make any changes to rooms made through Priceline (good to know). Greatfully, we were traveling as a couple and not with friends.
When we got to the hotel it was pretty nice, but the pool was closed for maintanence. Nice and clean lobby, computer in the lobby were there for guess use, with printer. The wifi was pretty spotty but there are wired connections in the rooms. The rooms were neat and well kept. The is a fitness room next to the pool. I had a problem with the fact that the curtains did not close. They have a sheer curtain up that closes all the way and a decorative curtain on top of that which doesnt move and stays open. So don't plan on sleeping in if you are easliy awaken by sunlight, or any light at all.
They provide complementary breakfast which consist of a waffle station, bananas and apples, a juice station, doughnuts, oatmeal packs, cereal, yogurt, microwavable breafast sandwhiches and a coffee. I liked it because it saved us from having to leave the hotel pay for breakfast. Also, breakfast was served from 7am to 11am and they kept the area very clean and there was a staff member there if you had any questions or needed something to be refilled.
All in all it was a pretty decent hotel for the price I paid but its not the Courtyard. The only complaints I have are the fact that I had to get dressed in the bathroom because the curtains did not close and the bed was extremely to soft, it wasn't good for my back (but my fiance loved the bed). The hotel is only a 2 min drive from the casino which is great. There is a shuttle that will come from the casino to come pick you up if you wish. We waited for 30 mins before just deciding to drive and of course once we pulled out of the parking lot the shuttle showed (not the hotels fault though just thought I would share).
If I had to go back to that area for any reason I would mind staying there again, if the price was right. But since Dover Downs charges gambler for drinks I probably will not go back. As much money as I spending in this casino you are charging for drinks??!!! Ridiculous. Anyway I would recommend this hotel.
