This hotel is in the midst of a major renovation. Rooms are large and clean. Pool is great.
There will be a massive lobby with breakfast area. Hotel is far away from major interstates but on the way from Wilmington to Dover.

We were a little skeptical about staying here, but we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean which I always worry about. And the staff was friendly. Breakfast was a Plus. The only complaint we'd have was that the bed was a lttle too soft. Otherwise we'd definitly stay again.

This hotel was spotted from the hwy cut off as we travelled through the eastern States heading home to Canada. It was Midnight so we took what was offered but the rates on this site are discounted to $74.95 per night and we paid $109 (89.95 + $10(1 per extra) + tax) for the same thing. The buffet breakfast at 8 a.m. was next to nothing and was not being monitored so it was a mess. the floor in the breakfast area was sticky with spills and the fruit was depleted. the apple juice spout had mould on it and the bread was almost gone. And no surprise...the coffee was cold. This is a 2 star and we overpaid because we didn't check it out prior to checking in...never again. As for the beds, they were not good and the cleaning staff hung around outside our door from 8 a.m. asking everytime we exited and reentered if they could come in and clean. It was annoying as check out was 11 a.m.

I stayed at the AmericInn in Bear for a couple of days in April. The staff was very friendly and my room was always clean. It was the perfect place to go after the long work days and get a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.
