“It was nice but nothing spectacular..”

We stayed here one night and had 2 rooms. Requested that the rooms be nearby and that one room have a crib. Well the rooms were on totally opposite sides of the hotel and they told us there should be a crib in one room and if not to call they'd get us one. Well it wasn't in either room so we called and about an hour later they told us they don't have cribs. The bed was pretty hard but the million pillows on it somewhat made up for that. The breakfast was blech everything was cold that should have been hot and the items that should have been cold were all hot. There were lumps near the spout of the milk when I went to pour it for my kids. The shower curtain in the bathroom was horrible it had no liner so no matter what you did water spewed all over the floor making it slippery. The shampoo and conditioner were very hard to get out of the containers no matter what I did I couldn't get the conditioner out. I wasn't in the shower long but when I got out there was at least an inch of water on the floor from the water just going straight through the curtain.

Staff was very friendly, hotel is in great condition, liked that you get a free bag of popcorn in your room and the rooms are VERY spacious and nicely layed out. One of our rooms was handicapped accessible and they only complaint I'd have for that is they didn't completely think through the layout there. We didn't have anyone handicapped so it didn't matter to us but in the room the table and chairs are VERY close to an armchair and there is no way a wheelchair could fit through that space.

Room Tip: The rooms at the end of the halls are handicapped and a bit roomier.

“It's just fine”

This is a fine place to stay and meets expectations for this type of accommodation. The hotel is well maintained and operated and the location is off the main highway assurring relative peace. The morning breakfast is welcome and well prepared. The rooms are spacious and much as you would expect. Only two minor issues I noticed - the towels tend to smell of dry cleaning solvent from washing (laundry fresh would be nicer) and the bed linen on my double bed had not been ironed so the undesheet was very creased and this did not create an impression of freshness or attention to detail. The staff were all helpful and professional.

“Wonderful hotel!!”

My husband and I found ourselves in the position of having to move out of our house while it was being repaired from winter storm damage. We called around to other hotels but the Homewood Suites had everything that we were looking for. They took pets, the hotel was close to our jobs and the price was right. After getting there we realized how much more they had to offer! Breakfast every day and dinner Mon-Thurs, work out room, pool and very clean. The best part though is the staff. I have never seen a group work better together and run things so efficiently. The GM Debbie is so personable and makes you feel like one of the "Homewood" family. We can't thank them all enough for making our stay there so enjoyable (which was a good thing because our 1 month stay ended up lasting almost 6 !!!)

Room Tip: 2 bedroom suites are available as well as single rooms

“Loving our stay!”

We are here for an extended stay and it's like home. The staff has been wonderful, very accommodating and friendly. We started in a king suite and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite and it's so spacious. My husband and I and our small dog are really enjoying our time here while our home is being repaired from storm damage. The extra space has made it so easy to entertain our family and grandkids. I'm not sure why people are upset with the pool, we've been using it all the time we've been here and have never found a problem..maybe it was just one of "those days". We've been here for 3 months and will probably be here for another 2.

I checked quite a few hotels in the area prior to making reservations at the Homewood Suites and the others didn't meet our standards. Peaceful location, close enough to everything so you don't have to go out of your way, friendly staff, clean and comfortable.

The front desk staff are so helpful and friendly. Debbie, the general manager has gone above and beyond to make our stay feel "just like home"...thank you Homewood Suites! Perfect!!

Room Tip: 4th floor is the quietest in my opinion since there is no one above you.

“Your reservation doesn't matter.”

I have just completed my second stay here. Both times I have had a reservation for a NON smoking room. Both times they were "out" of non smoking rooms and completely filled. What is the point of a reservation?

This is the last time I stay at this dump.

Dear Steve R.

Thank you for your honest feedback. it is quite unfortunate that you found yourself in this situation a second time. We do have seven smoking rooms and quite often they are the last rooms to sell. While I understand your frustration of having a reservation for a non-smoking room only to arrive and be put in a smoking room, there are circumstances that come up that create this situation. For instance (especially due to two recent major weather related and power related issues) there are times when people choose to extend and are already in a room - these situations are difficult to predict and come up daily. When put in this situation, what I normally do is let the guest check out the smoking room first to see if it might be suitable. Then the guest makes the decision - if not suitable I would then walk you to a neighboring hotel where you could get a non-smoking room. Given that, please know that we take great pride in the quality of service and cleanliness in our hotel. Our staff are honest and hard working people who are proud of their work and their workplace.

Please contact me directly if future plans bring you back to Wallingford - I will ensure that you are placed in a non-smoking room and it would be a pleasure to assist you with travel plans in the area.

Thank you again for your honest feedback.
