This property would be acceptable for a short stay, but if I had to stay more than a week on a job I would want to be somewhere else.
On the positive side, the two rooms I saw have new paint, furniture, bathrooms and decorations. However the rich colors (deep yellow and deep red) are grating after a while and they clash with the dark carpet. The carpet probably needs to be dark to deal with winter mud and snow, but it's an ugly color and is of a type that looks dirty even when clean. I had to ask for a new room because the Amana heating unit in my wall would not function properly. It appeared to be new, but would not work on low settings (only on noisy high settings) and it would not put out enough heat to keep the room warm. The heater worked in the second room but it was an old and worn Carrier model with broken control knobs. I had to get pliers from my car toolbox to operate the controls. The hotel allows smokers but has some non-smoking rooms. I believe that someone had smoked in my room. There was a powerful deodorant smell everywhere. In the middle of the night I awoke because the air was filling with old stale smoke smells. Even though it was a January night, I had to keep the window open to counteract the stifling air. The bathroom, though small, had a new bath/shower unit, and good pressure on the hot water. TV reception was clear with lots of channels. This property is probably as good as it gets in the area and the price is low. I saw a remark about bedbugs from another reviewer. I didn't find any. Someone remarked that the area is rough. I didn't find it to be rough, but it is the truck stop side of town. However, the adjoining neighborhoods appear to be nice. Personally, if I were in charge of town planning, I wouldn't want properties like Days Inn on the "right side of the tracks". There is a local 24 hour diner across the street that has a good selection of food at reasonable prices.
